Following up on my earlier posts, what's the best non-lead factory ammunition in 308 Win for UK deer that can be bought in the UK today. What do you recommend and where can you get it?
Thanks

SDM on here has been using 308 lead free for the past few years and shoots alot of fallow and muntjac..... hes found the federal 150 grain copper factory ammo to be doing a good job at a decent price less than 40 quid a box (other dealers may charge more).

FC rangers vary in what they use..... ask Ed what he supplies them and I know some like the rws evo green.

Using 150g trophy copper (£47/£55 a box) ..with good results on reds, although they seem to punch through roe like a needle, the
lighter bullet is the way to go. Eventually l will change to Barnes 130g TTSX (£60/£70) once I’ve used trophy copper I have.

Atb, Buck.

Ps federal also do 150g copper
£35/40. Not to be confused with
Trophy copper !

Tim Pilbeam (Fieldsports Britain, Facebook, various magazines) has been testing extensively recently and has plenty of videos, group sizes, some real deer performance for you to have a look at and see. It'll depend you can actually get hold of though.

I still think more RFDs should sell combo packs, 20 rounds, 4 different lots of 5 rounds in a pack to test. It'd get more business as people would buy a box to test if they were getting 4 different types to try for the price of one box.

Yes a bloody joke ain’t it... eventually if we’re all to change.....
(If being the magic word) they will
come down in price.
Would be interesting to know what the rest of you guys are paying for
your copper whatever the cal. ????

(Bulk is the way to go. 200rds
and above always gets a little discount)

It's mad I will be sticking with lead for as long as I possibly can I think the whole lead free non toxic is seriously flawed. I would like to know how many people have got seriously ill or died as a result of shooting lead bullets or even eating some bit of lead by mistake?.

This is well worth watching - whether you agree with him or not, he explains his position very clearly:
