Lead free comparison of the GMX, ETIP, TTSX & LRX

I found that very interesting (if imperfect). Thank you, @Acm.

I have to admit that I have a hankering to play with some Nosler E-tips, which I might satisfy were it not for the fact that "only c'nts use copper" keeps playing over and over in my head... :p

I used to have the same saying about cammo, “only ****s wear cammo” but then I found it so comfy, and good looking 😂so I guess the cap fits!

the e tip also pipped my fancy. I generally like nosler products.

Not helpful from the point of view of the range/expansion/comparison given the failure to launch the Barnes bullets fast enough.

But helpful from raising awareness of bad batches / undersize bullets which is why he claims the TTSX did not get up to full speed.

The relative hardness of TTSX copper or GMX gilding metal depends on the work hardened state of the bullets rather than the 5% zinc addition...the expansion is equally dependent on the design of the hollow point as much as the terminal velocity...

I found the GMX worked much the same as the Barnes (and much the same as lead core come to that) the deer all died after being shot with one.

Agreed. I didn't understand the benefit of keeping powder-quantity as the constant, rather than velocity.

I have some 100gr I'm going to try in my 257 Roberts when I can get near my stalking.

Would shoot them at Bisley but no, there's a mono-metal bullet ban there...
