Sending In-Fur to AGHE to have back for own consumption

Thanks mate, yeah I've seen the Scott Rea video also, I did want to try it myself but just don't currently have the space to do it safely and cleanly ( the garage is full and I don't think the neighbors would be super happy seeing me doing it in the garden) but i am keen to learn to do it as I feel it's all part of the experience, maybe I could tag along and watch you do it one day?
No problem. You need to tidy that garage but I guess you know that. I wonder how much catering stuff is available now, a fair bit I suspect.
The 1st deer I ever did I skinned hanging off the kids wooden swing/ climbing frame structure in the back garden. Although I never want to upset the neighbours that’s the one time I said s#d the neighbours they shouldn’t be watching. Then the “ I’ve got other mums coming round from the school in a little while” suddenly came my primary concern and I wasn’t even sure what I was doing back then. Managed to do in time so no traumatised mums thankfully.

Yeah it's a work in progress at the moment! But it is getting there we are in the process of selling and buying a new house so many of the things I want to do are put to the bottom of the list
But the aim is to have a nice area in the garage where I can deal with them properly / have a chiller to put them in also, but as the deer that I took to Ben rigby was the first and to date only one I've been able to go out and get I didn't want to mess up the meat without learning what to do in more detail

I took an in fur carcass to Ben rigby game and they butchered it for me, I don't have my trained hunter as of yet but wasn't a problem
But it would have been a problem for them if they would have had an inspection and your untagged unregistered carcass was hanging in their larder...

I usually get the butcher in the village to do mine. I take in the carcass gralloched (of course) with head and feet off and in the skin. I fill in a little form containing my hunter number, details of the deer and my mobile number, just in case he might need them for an inspection or visit from the authorities. He butchers the carcass to what ever I want and vacuum packs the meat all for £30.

Which species of deer is that for, a Muntjac, a Red or something in between?

So far its been Roe, but he keeps ribbing me to “bring him something bigger”. His view is unless it’s a monster Red, it’s a standard £30.

The butcher in the local town will also do it for £25, but he wants the carcass skinned first.

This is one of the many advantages of living out in the sticks in Herefordshire.
