Trollop , what a lovely old fashioned word .............. and yes , you are , but just a bit . Nice rifle by the way , perfect for down in the breaks .

I saw it on the rack in a distant town and actually drove away but the darned thing was whispering to me as I drove off. I finally turned around and went back. Mine has wonderful walnut with a dull finish and to spite me for crabbing about CZ triggers for the last year, the darned thing came with a decent trigger. The barrel is an honest to gosh free float and I suspect the same V-block bedding as my Varmint is lurking under the action. Test fire target wasn't impressive using Geco 123 sp but we'll see.

All I have for rings are High Leupolds so I'll need to order some mediums. For now at least, I have a Zeiss 3-9 in place. Hoping to give it a run with factory ammo tomorrow.

Good down in the breaks, indeed. ~Muir

527 carbine in 762x39 was my first c/f
Sold when I upped to my 308.
Regretted it, made a case to vary my FAC
Bought new then sold on to Hornet 6 as my shooting ground was lost.
Always felt something was missing in the cabinet
Now I have new ground a use for the calibre and granted a variation
Bought this second hand a couple of weeks ago

Any reason for those sky high mounts?

Tart, maybe, but I've been following the 527 troop train, stop by stop. I just counted: This makes 527 purchase number 10. In fairness, I gave my 204 to my girlfriend and an American Hornet and my X39 carbine to my son. The carbine was one of the most handsome CZ's I've ever seen. The pic I posted is a file pic from CZ. My rifle has a very dark piece of walnut with a satin finish, reminiscent of my son's carbine but without the swirling grain pattern. What are you shooting, ammo wise? I currently run Hodgdon CFE Black and Accurate Arms 1680. Both of these powders are very similar to LOVEX D063.02. It is interesting that the last 1440 rounds of BELOM ammuntion I received had a stickers on the individual boxes showing the charge of D063-02 they had loaded. Handy info as the ammo -this is FMJ and slated for police and military- is very accurate. ~Muir

This is my son's Carbine. First ten rounds.

Rifle came with a box of Prvi Partizan - 7.62mm x 39 FMJ 123gr and the group shot- from a bench rest, at 25m- was tight.
I plan a session this coming Thursday so will have more details after that
Did used to hand load but I doubt I will restart as the "over the counter" cost for Prvi ammunition is ok for me

Prvi is the most common boxer primed ammo here in my area... or was. I bought a large quantity of it but only got really good accuracy from the 123 grain RN. Handloads are another matter with that carbine and my suppressor-ready model. Both of these shot under MOA when I didn't screw it up. I am heading to the range in a few hours to do some off hand practice. I'll test the new American model then with Hornady Steel Match (SST loaded in steel cases) some PPU, BELOM, and a few handloads. I'm hoping for good results. ~Muir

Damn! An unnecessary reminder that a swine pal still refuses to sell me his. He wasn’t that keen on it until I foolishly showed him the set trigger…..

He's the fool if that's the breaking point of the sale. Set triggers do not enhance accuracy. I have never found so in my CZ's and accordingly, have been replacing the triggers with Timneys. There are some Videos on line of accuracy tests with and without the set. "Without" won every time. My new 527 has a decent quality single stage pull but I really wish CZ would just offer a good single stage trigger and dump the set. ~Muir

123 grain RN looks very interesting so will see if I can locate any- though I think it might be a long search :(

I have the same issue . I have dies , brass and bullets , but factory ammo is so cheap I can't be bothered . That and the fact my rifles really like Privi and Wolf doesn't help to motivate me . I also have several thousand rounds of Czech ( great stuff ! ) Ball ammo for casual plinking and general deviant uses . The dies may be gathering dust for some time .

There are just some cartridges that are just a pleasure to reload, and the 7,62x39 is one of them.

So I shot the new CZ. It was eye opening with regards to that BELOM ammo I took to the range. Bore sighting put me really close at 50M so I adjusted to be a little low and fired some groups. They were impressive, to say the least. Minute of wiggle. Most were at or under half inch while I experimented on different holds.

Moved to 100 and had M'Lady spot for me while I shot. The first three Belom went into 3/4 inch at 4 o'clock. I adjusted the Zeiss and over shot. Brought it down a couple of clicks and was where I wanted. Cant say enough about that ammo. I will say that I got a complete dud from that box. Dropped the striker on it 5 times with no Joy. Another round took two hits to ignite. I have three LOTS of the stuff. I'll try another LOT.

Anyhow. I loaded BELOM brass I'd generated from testing it in my Ruger. The primers are sealed/laquered into place which made it a little difficult to remove them. Once decapped and cleaned, the primer pockets were uniform and square. I FL resized, trimmed and finished off the 20 cartridges with a crimp. The charge was a grain under Accurate Arms 1680 listed load, loaded to Nosler's spec for the ballistic tip 123 grain, .310" diameter bullet. The results are below.

This was holding at the tp of the diamond. I saw that group and finished the last 15 shooting off hand, trading off with my girlfriend shooting a 7x9 plate standing. Accurate lists that load at 2520 fps. I'm sure it's all of that.
Crap. Load development is done......

I did not shoot the PPU and Hornady. Couldn't see the point. ~Muir

I've had really good results with CFE BLK myself . H-4198 has also worked well for me in a few guns , it turns my SKS into a scatter gun though . First world problems .

CFE BLACK lost the coin toss, that's all. I have an eight pounder plus a few singles just for the X39 and 300AAC. I have loaded Black for the X39 using this Nosler bullet. My notes don't indicate that I'd never used it with the Hornady SP. My notes only record it's use with the Nosler .310s'. All my Interlock data was with 1680. I am sure I have used both with either bullet but I wanted to have some concrete documentation so I changed it up: 1680 with the Noslers and next time out I'll load Interlocks with Black. ~Muir

PS: Reading through my posts I don't talk much about the rifle. In general:
Right out-of-the-box awesome.
That about sums it up.
