Legality of 12 gauge blank trip wires

Is there any issues with using 12 gauge blank trip wire alarms on badgers? Would they work on a badger?

We have a pest couple of badgers and the amount of damage they can do in a night is ridiculous. The below is just overnight last night.

Not really damage in true sense, just part of nature, know you can/could use electric fence to protect fisheries against otters, would have a peak at the badge act!

It’s absolutely damage, some of the holes are 6” deep and wide…and the amount of earth a badger can move in a night is astonishing.

First rule of things like this is, get on with it and dont tell anyone what your up to 😂😂

I do know 1 farmers garden that used to be a right mess and very close to a decent sized sett in quite a broccy area, he had motion sensitive ultra sonic things and it definately massively improved his garden.
His garden was a right mess before, quite wet ground with ponds and i imagine a lot of grubs in soil and they certainly made a difference
But i will say his garden was quite well fenced but it was still well fenced before he putt he ultra sonics up and was getting damage, but mibbee easier for the to stay clear when proper defined solid boundries than a more open space (say a football or cricket pitch (not that they exist in scotland anyway)().
Looks quite an open space in the photos

Do u want bangers going of in the middle of the night? or even worse when u wander out in grey dark to inspect damage (so 7am nowadays) still half asleep and trip over it urself and it scares the bejesus out of u

I am in the same boat as you with the bloody things digging everywhere and ruining my lawns. An electric fence may be the way to go as I can think of no other legal remedy.Richard.

It’s a fair size of area to fence, and there are some welcome visitors I don’t want to stop…but they rarely come nearer to the house - the badgers do…

I would certainly place a few bangers around., Not near a set - and claim they are burglar detterent.

when I first started my pheasant shoot I had all my feeders dieselled. I came up with a grand plan to fit a couple of trip wire blank firers inside some feeders to give the perpetrator a surprise next time he attempted it. But having strong suspicions about who did it, and the age him, I genuinely decided against it worried it may give him a hear attack!
