Is anyone using fox lead free bullets

I have found 3 but i have shot pretty much all the box.
Had a similar issue with factory loaded 7x57 rounds from fox. Some wouldn’t chamber at all. In the end took them all back.
There does seem a production quality issue. That said loaded my own 123gr fox in 6.5 in a tikka and got one raggedy hole
So the bullets work.

You mean the bullets shoot straight! Unless you bought them for target shooting then working would require them to kill deer quickly with minimal meat damage! Shooting straight is only part of that process!

Ok pedant. Yes they work for accuracy and on roe, fallow and red. Happy now?

I Understand what you were saying.. Some people must reload their bullets and without testing them at the range just go out shoot deer. I have given up on the Fox bullets all together and gone Hornady GMX for home loading in my 6.5x55 with good results. I wonder how many others have come across sub-standed Fox factory loads ?

What's pedantic about it. I can get any bullet to shoot. What I can't get is any non-toxic to work well on small and large deer hence my comment of the lack of information on your's.

How can you understand what he was saying based on the info given? "got one raggedy hole So the bullets work."
Do you have crystal balls or something?

If i can stick rounds in a 1 inch disk at 100 yards i sure i can shoot deer with it what more information do you need than that ? As for copper / lead bullet teasting just start to cacth them to see if they are mushrooming i used a water butt.. simple. With copper some say you need the speed to make them more afective so this is were load develpoment comes to its own.

How quickly did the water butt die and did you get much meat damage? :cuckoo:

I am sorry you have had a poor experience.
There have been some issues with brass size and tight chambers which is a known problem with PPU as it is in spec but right at the upper end of CIP dimensions especially in 08 cartridge derivation.
This was addressed at production with an extra stage but there are still a lot of rounds out there from previous runs unfortunately.
It’s an anomaly with the chamber spec and brass spec and only affects a very small number of rifle ammo combinations.

I have not seen a primer issue like before.
Did you contact the shop about this?
Do you still have the box with the lot number.
If you could get in touch with me I would be grateful

So you use water as your testing medium which is nothing like shooting deer. See below:

Any single density substrate is not a reliable comparison to multi density carcase
Even limiting it to a cheat shot
Skin
Minor muscle/major muscle
Bone or not bone
Minor muscle
Lung/heart/liver
Minor muscle
Bone or not bone
Minor muscle
Skin

In that order

Anything else will expand into a water butt or 48” gelatine block

Watch and learn

Are you serious? That is why no one trusts the results. How much bone is in a can of water? If you believe the results FSB put forward then you're deluded. A rather high percentage of the deer were shot in the head or neck and they appear to have kept the photos to themselves for some strange reason. They have also avoided letting their cameras get too close to any deer shot with none toxic bullets on their stalking features admitting that the damage was massive.

Go on then smarty pants give us the answer.

I have picked a box of the 123gr Fox factory loaded.. I am shooting a Tikka T3x 6.5x55. For me they don't group very well at all there tight in the breach i think they don't resize the brass before loading. PPU brass nothing special and i paid £48.60 a box. Not for me but give them a go they may work for you.
And now £60 a box of 20

Hi

2 years ago I shot 3 wild pigs (1, 100kg boar and 2, 20-25kg Frishlinge) using 139gr FOX i 6,5x55.
Same hunt 2 fallow does.
No complaint, all shots went right trough and only 1 doe and the boar run more than 10 meters, but less than 50.
Not a lot of meat damage, but my only FOX hunting is experience on these 5 animals. They grouped nicely in my old Sauer 202 6,5x55.

Now we have to switch to lead free here in Denmark, so first choice for my 30-06 was Barnes TSX 165gr, as i had good experience using this bullet in my BSA 308 for 8 years.
Unfortunately the Barnes made bad groupings, trouble keeping 25Cm (10 inch) disk.
Tried FOX 165gr in the 30-06 and they group perfect.

Saw a bit of that video and will say that they have gone into the subject to a far greater degree than the average SD user.
