Hi, anyone use imr 4166 with 55grn v max in 22.250rem? Thanks
Not 22/250 but, if my Sako .243 is anything to go by, it (4166) stops copper build up in the barrel. 30 shots, a squirt of Borefoam, leave for 20 minutes and patch out. No blue on the patch. Bore scoped it and it's clean, so looks like the copper remover element works - on my barrel at least.I had good results with 22/250 on the lighter Bullets around 45/50gr but still working on 223 loads as it’s a new caliber too me. It has the copper fouling remover build into it apparently but not quite sure what or if it does anything.
Thanks, I acquired a pile of 50gr Vmax so looking for a powder to start with. So far from what I read it's a choice of CFE223, Reloder 15, Viht 140 or possibly 135, and of course now IMR4166. I was going to take the 'pin the tail on the donkey' approach as there doesn't seem to be a clear favourite.I had good results with 22/250 on the lighter Bullets around 45/50gr but still working on 223 loads as it’s a new caliber too me. They do, it's the new Endron range introduced in 2020 and is REACH compliant. Though it's called IMR it is now a Hogdens brand.I don’t think they make imr4166 anymore but could be wrong
Was that 60gr in a 22-250, if so what twist is that?Had another go with IMR 4166 today pushing 60Gr sierras and I’m glad I didn’t sell the pot. Obviously 60Gr seems a good combination with this powder and not with my CFE223 in my REM 700View attachment 271069
