What an terrific and historic day.

I’m currently watching the pageantry on tv and feeling rather proud of our Nation.

I firmly believe no other Nation does pomp and ceremony like we do and watching our massed troops parade gives me goose bumps.

Later today I have the responsibility of lighting our towns beacon in honour of Her Majesty and have been loosing sleep for some time (I have plan “A” but “B” and “C” as as back up)

Enjoy this moments folks and celebrate a truly remarkable monarch.

God Save The Queen

Wife and I rode out at Balmoral last Sunday as part of the Jubilee celebrations organised by the British Horse Society. Over a hundred riders. We started out riding through the Queens Stud. Blacked out Range Rover drove past us, and the lassies in front seemed awful pleased about something. We later found out Her Majesty was in residence last weekend. Could it have been . . . . ? :D

Managed to see some of the planes including the Lancaster in mid essex as they made their way in to London. Kids are going to a jubilee picnic in the village shortly and off to see the beacon being lit tonight.

It was certainly a really good "show", showing how Great Britain can organise such great day! And nice to see the "Working Members of the Royal Family" together on the balcony with Her Majesty (Complete with a smile on her face)!
I'm not that much of a Royalist but enjoyed watching it!

There's more beacon lighters here than a becaon lighters convention 😂
Our village doesnt have a beacon..... maybe the village elders will see fit to ignite some of the fly tipped tree cuttings left by travelling seasonal workers😎 going armed with a tatty in tinfoil just in case.

As an American and keen student of history I find it all wonderful. The number of people that we now only know in history books (Churchill, FDR, Eisenhower, JFK, etc..) as important people, are all people that she personall6 knew and interacted with. She is quite the treasure from that point alone.

I'm sure some volunteers with chainsaws can be found to cut them into smaller pieces for your beacon 🤔.
Mind all them Vegatabilists might give off a funny smell.

I didn't know that there was going to be a fly past until I did my normal peak at ADS-B Exchange - tracking thousands of aircraft
Spotted the Lanc, which was hanging around above Essex, then saw Spits catching up with it, and noticed that there were a hell of a lot of Military planes mooching around above and beyond the South East coast, and helicopters heading in from the West, then it finally became clear when they started to form into a long line of groups of different types and set course for London.
