Tikka T3x feed issue

A quick question for the collective experience and wisdom.
I have a Tikka T3x stainless in .204R. I’ve owned it from new for the last 10 years or so - probaBly less than 1000 rounds but lots of loading unloading as it’s my foxing rifle 3 to 6 nights a week.
The last couple of nights I’ve had trouble chambering a round - its as if the round is miss aligned with the chamber. The rounds pop out of the mag oh but seem to get stuck as they travel into the chamber (very similar to the loading issue I had with my .17 Fireball). Retracting the bolt, I can get my finger in to push the round into the chamber but inevitably, in the dark, I have to fiddle about in the ejection port to prevent the bolt picking up another round.

Ive read somewhere in the past that the plastic magazine lips ware with time - is this a symptom of the ware issue or is something else going on?
I should add, I’ve never had an issue with the botlt picking up a round with this rifle though I will confess the magazine is always stored with 3 rounds in it ready for a quick deployment should I see a fox out of the upstairs windows.

Cheers
N

Thanks for the replies.

Does anyone do a steel/aluminium flush Std bottom ‘metal’ fit mag in .204/.223 size?

N

Good info here, I'm getting the same problem here in .222 its like they jump out nose high & catch on the start of the chamber.

Yes, Waters Rifleman of Australia.

Not flush fit though, smallest capacity is 6 rounds of 223

And all UK sources out of stock it seems...

Had the same issue in .223
Bought the metal mag from rifle mags online and had no regrets ever since.
As caberslash says tho unfortunately they are out of stock at the moment.

Can't see the point of shooting foxes on a golf course; surely better leaving them to keep the rabbits in check? (See the credits pre video).

Foxes bring their own problems, they destroy the bunker edges digging on the course I shoot, giving themselves away with their footprints.

Have to be honest, I'd not shoot a fox to help a golf course. I've a fox to shoot as it's taken a liking to cats, both domesticated and feral. Maybe I should catch it and relocate it to a golf course 🤔
Anyhoo, going back to Tikka plastic mags, they all wear the feed lips over time.

Same problem with my .223 t3x and only had it a few weeks. I did an internet search and saw several examples of the same problem. Tikka sent me a new mag but again only a plastic one and not the metal reinforced ones.
I too bought the Waters magazine and never a problem since.
