Will the looney left and free huggers be exposed in years to come?

Inevitably we look back at what went before us and learn. Of course it will be too late for all the wildlife and the people who thrived in the environment. How that picture is actually painted in history is again at the will of the political leanings of those who write it.

Even if emissions-based man-made climate change were to turn out to be a fallacy, the people behind politicised environmental protest will never go away because it is an industry and an ideology, which holds that the other side are to blame for all that is wrong. Revolutionaries never stop revolting because it becomes their identity. If their stated cause becomes settled or negated in some way, they simply find anther one. If "the other side" cannot be blamed for climate change, something else will be found to blame them for and the protesters will undergo a rebrand.

It's a travesty really because there is so much wrong with human society and our pathological relationship with the world we live, but that isn't up for discussion because existential questions are not where political capital is made. Essentially, climate warriors are anti-capitalists who would replace the current socio-economic model with one equally bad but with other people in charge and the real problems will remain.

Interesting article on the SGA page. It makes me wonder if in years to come the environmentalists will turn around and say “oh, sorry, we got it wrong”…..yet we still seem as a society to be lemmings following the “plant trees, build wind/solar farms etc”…..

One thing you have to realise and accept before anything is that this is an industry that has been created and there is a lot of money involved.

The vast majority of them are nothing but malleable idealists and, with very few exceptions, none will or would apologise and say they got it wrong, it’s simply not in their vocabulary. They are guided and encouraged to think that their opinion is the only one worth listening to and that everyone should acquiesce to their wishes.

Whether it’s climate change or vegans or whatever, they are all cut from the same cloth and piggy back onto each other and their various campaigns to try and achieve their aims whether they are scientifically proven or not.

Years ago as a naval officer I was required to attend briefings on strategic risks both home and abroad

These briefings were home-office stuff and involved industry and academics as well as military personnel

It was the time of concern about peak oil and the possible social consequences of the end of cheap energy (oil)

One of the topics discussed was how to prepare the population for such potentially catastrophic changes

The argument of energy security was one, but was thought to be too abstract

Apparently The environment was chosen as the tool for engineering social change

…. And so was borne this new environmental religion

35 years on and no one challenges the high priests of climate catastrophe, as it is an accepted truth

But they should

And it isn’t

Like all good lies, it is based upon fact, but the misdirection lays, I believe, in exaggeration and purpose of the initiative

Which is not to ‘save the planet’ but to ensure that societies accept greater control on personal freedom as energy becomes more expensive to produce

I have never forgotten those long ago presentations and I do not trust the current agenda

By 2100, there will be 4 billion people living in Africa.. compared to 1.2 Billion now.

If temperatures gets to high, that they won't be able to live there, due to drought, failing crops, famine, war, etc etc etc.... where is the nearest safest place for them?
Europe and North America.

Do you think your great grandchildren will let them just die?
Or let them all in...

We are burning hundreds and hundres of millions of years of stored carbon, in less then 100 years.
It has an affect on climate..

Root of the problem, the uncontrollable spread of human species.

At least the end will be quick, look pretty and feel warm (as your eyeballs are singed out of their sockets...) 😌

Quite right. Remember the hole in the Ozone Layer and Acid Rain. Even when man made global warming is proven to be bunkum another “existential threat” will be along to replace it, will probably be another advancing ice age.

It was a problem.... and what helped?

Stop using certain man-made chemicals in everyday products like aerosols, foams, refrigerators and air-conditioners were harming the ozone layer.

What about lead in petrol?
Huge problem... but didn't inconvenience us that much by stopping it.

Wrong, the advent of the laser printer and its ubiquitous global use plugged the whole in the Ozone Layer, why because Laser printers produce Ozone.
