Home Nations Left in World Cup.

I have to admit Wales deserve their place in the semis. I saw some of the game against Ireland this morning.
Didn`t see any of the England game, let themselves down badly by all accounts.
Though i don`t follow rugby often it does look like British rugby is on the up.
basil.

Remind me, who is still in the world cup and really deserved it?

Wales! And I have two pints to collect to prove it ;)

Some of the best rugby I have seen played for a long time, and 7 of the starting 15 were under 23! They will be around for a long time to come. It was a delight to watch.

Warburton to capatain the Lions?

The Wales V Ireland game was one of the best for a while, Ireland seemed to be on top for a lot of the game but Wales finished off with a score when the did attack and were very good in defense. It looks like it could be a Wales New Zealand final. With Ireland out, hope Wales go all of the way.

bad enough getting beat by the frogs ,but it could be worse if we had won because the taffs would have beat us and we would have heard about it for years.england where crap and where lucky to beat scotland to qualify, poor off field antics did not help .spoke to andy robinson yesterday at leanth who said he was proud of the scotland boys even in defeat ,can johnson say that!.robinson was very happy to talk rugby , was pleasant with everybody and was watching his son play for loughborough ,looking back he was not treated well by the rfu, imho.

must be because wales feel at home amongst all those sheep:lol: in all honesty england were shite throughout the tournament and did not deserve to go through.. as much as it pains me to say it wales deserve to be where they are and i hope they make it to the final. the *******s.

Management, poor RFU leadership, off-field antics, age over youth, there's a whole host of things wrong with the England set-up at the moment, but as I said about the game vs Scotland, the most worrying thing for me about the England team is that apparently there's no-one on the pitch who can think for themselves. They either have to wait until half-time or get a message from the water-carriers before they can figure out what the tactics should be. In today's fast-moving game you can't survive if you don't have players on the pitch who can think on their feet. Contrast that to any of the other home nations - or any of the other teams in the RWC - and you can see why the England team are currently tucking into the drinks & nuts served up by the trolley dollies.

It was a woeful display yesterday, with hardly anyone from the England team emerging with any credit. Schoolboy errors time after time. Crap line-out, poor scrummaging (scrummaging for God's sake, that's where we used to dominate!!) and terrible handling - for England to complete a sequence of passes we'd have needed the ball to be dwarf-shaped. France played a superb tactical game and the win against England was thoroughly deserved. I had a text message from a French colleague after the game that was almost apologetic in terms of how badly England had played, it was that bad.

I would like to think that there will be a root & branch review of what went wrong and changes made, but that's exactly what the FA said after the last Football World Cup and look at what's happened...nothing. With the lunatics in charge of the asylum at the RFU at the moment I doubt they're thinking of anything more strategic than their own survival.

Wales played a blinder, and I'd love to see them go all the way. Ireland caused the upset of the tournament by beating Australia in the pool matches. Scotland showed us what playing with pride and commitment is all about.

Today's game between the Wallabies and Boks was another classic. The Puma's have played a spirited game but with 5 minutes to go the fitness and quality of the All Blacks is now proving it's worth.

At least now we can focus on the rugby.

Well I hope your guys beat France and play NZ in the final.
Then I would be really happy to see you win the world cup.
Good luck Wales

WALES! WALES! WALES!
England did what they do best however i can't decide which would have been better watching them go home in discrace while we play on or beating them ourselves then sending them home in some ways i wish they had won. BUT THEY DIDN'T!
On a more serious note the england team are suffering a host of problems on and off the pitch all their own doing while Wales have got it togeather and look realy prommising for a place in the final.

It should serve as encouragement to England that 3 years ago nobody would have givem Wales a realistic chance of getting past the quarterfinals, especially as they were in the "pool of death" but they are deservedly in the semis and have realistic chance of progressing. Why? A good coach who gives the team belief, letting the young kids play (half the team under 23), superb defence (courtesy of an English coach) and a number of gifted runners who are not afraid to chuck the ball around. There's no reason why any home nation can't do the same.

Shame England are out I am going to miss that prat swallow diving with his arm in the air, perhaps they should have spent more time honing there skills rather than there diving.
But on a serious note England need to start afresh and bring on the youngsters, the master plan for this world cup was give it to jonnie and hope we kick ourselves to the final again.
