Hello all,

Came across the site whilst searching for some info for a variation to my FAC and enjoyed the posts i read so thought i would join.

I grew up on a small farm so started out on Shotguns and Air rifles. Got my FAC over covid to shoot vermin with .17HMR and also have .223 Remington.

Accompanied a friend Deer Stalking a few times and decided that it is something i would like to do and have just submitted a variation so i can buy a new (secondhand) rifle i have just reserved in .30-06.

I hope to get some more opportunities local to me and maybe beyond. Booked onto my DSC1 in the spring.

Jim

Hi Jim,

I did my DSC1 this summer and did not take into account the volume of information which comes up on the test. If you've got the book and enjoy reading I advise you to start reading it sooner rather than later!

If you're not into reading so much there are some really handy websites you can use for learning & practice assessments, I used one and found it a lot easier than 'book learning'.

Plenty of info on here about that if you search.

Thanks, I think the book is in the post now so will get my head into it when it arrives!

DSC1 Completed on the weekend. Just waiting on the results from BASC.

Loads of information to remember, a few on Wild Boar in the test that did not appear in any of the practice tests I did beforehand so hopefully I was able to work them out correctly!
