do you need to buy bushings for the redding fl bushing die

hi guys, sorry to bother you but i need a new die for my 7 saum and the only die i can find in the uk is a redding bushing die, i was wondering if it comes with a standard bushing or do u need to purchase them separately. if anyone knows about some other 7 saum dies for sale id be very interested because im supposed to be out this weekend but all my brass is unsized and needs a shoulder bump.

You’ll need to purchase a bushing and more importantly one of a size (three digit #) that will give your brass the desired neck tension.

The idea is that you measure neck thickness then add that to the diameter of the bullet & deduct 2 thou to get neck tension - eg. neck thickness of 12thou x2 = 24thou. Add to .224” bullet diameter = .248” deduct 2thou = .246” bushing needed.

Dies & bushings if required are available from these folk Whidden Gunworks - Technology Applied To The Art of Shooting
Good folk to deal with. You can get standard dies off the shelf, or send them some of your fired brass and they will make a die to match your fired brass.

What ammunition have you been using?

What brass are you using? Also what neck size is your chamber?

There are a lot of variations in the 7 SAUM

The brass hasn’t been fired through my rifle yet, I was finding it hard to find new brass so I managed to get some once fired Norma so I need a fl sizer to bump the shoulder back so it will fit in my rifle, I used to have a Hornady one but I jacketed it on the weekend I didn’t put enough lube on and the case got stuck in the die.

I tried to drill it and the case has jut stuck to the wall, I took it to a gunsmith and he said it’s not possible to fix it
