What powders have you got or are you looking to start from scratch
May I ask why you’ve gone for magnum primers instead of normals?Tikka t3x.
Lapua SR brass. SR magnum primers. RS60 powder. Hornady 143gr eldx. 43.4 gr powder. Seated to book COL.
20” barrel, gets 2745 fps.
I did load development with 0.2gr increments between 43 and 44.4gr. All shot into a single group of under 1”, so I just picked one. I don’t think it would have mattered which.
I was advised to by people who knew much more than me!May I ask why you’ve gone for magnum primers instead of normals?
And? Did you find it works better than normal ones in “any” way? Or did you not use normal ones?I was advised to by people who knew much more than me!
SR primers. And? Did you find it works better than normal ones in “any” way? Or did you not use normal ones?
Are you on small or large primers?
I use Large rifle primers in mine and never found a need to swap to Mangnum. Mine are very consistent, SD of 4 so it will do.
I have not loaded any round yet, but I have been told by mates to start with N555.
Because they have thicker cups so hold up to higher pressure without piercing. And? Did you find it works better than normal ones in “any” way? Or did you not use normal ones?

You wouldn’t need to with large rifle, the only difference is the Brisance. With small rifle the magnum primers have thicker cups so can hold up to higher pressures.I use Large rifle primers in mine and never found a need to swap to Mangnum. Mine are very consistent, SD of 4 so it will do.
SRP , Lapua brass , N555 42 grains , 139 lapua scenar , seated at 72m
Probably not running it very hot then, which is fineI use standard SR primers with N555 and have never had an issue up to now.
