Op Titanium

We're all doomed!
Using the words weapon, not firearm? Any object can be a weapon if you so choose.
If someone lives alone, who would they ask then? The dog? a jilted ex partner? The neighbours who never knew you had guns?
The medical markers are a good idea, but the rest is getting silly.

@Conor O'Gorman - please provide an official BASC statement on the above, covering the truth of the questions proposed to be asked, BASC's position on the asking of such questions (including their relevance), how answers are intended to be used given they are an opinion - and how that might be monitored (quis custodiet ipsos custodes) - and what would happen if a partner were to refuse to answer some or all of the questions.
The police should not be putting out there own forms and we have been challenging this. The OP has it wrong to allege that BASC is going along with this when we are challenging it. There was a BASC update here: Project Titanium and there will be further updates to come. I will pass your questions onto colleagues on advice to people being currently subject to the questionnaire.

These are the questions being used by the fuzz in at least 5 forces. Supplied by gwent police. I’ll leave you to determine what is nonsense or not. Basc are aligning themselves to this because they want a ten year certificate, but apparently discussions have taken place about the appropriateness of the questions so we hope for change. Frankly its all unnecessary. Feos have the ability to question and follow indicators but this is a step too far, unilateral and results in a refusal if you don’t supply details of on how to contact your current or ex partners. This should only be used if there is an indication to follow a path around domestic disharmony. Otherwise it is not proportionate. There is a huge bias towards men and no questions about female hormonal incidents and whether the partner of the applicant is actually the controlling factor blah blah you get my drift of you read it.

It has been in published articles in mainstream media news . Where they interviewed 2 ladies who had been victims of violent partners . Apparently they helped formulate the questionnaire . I think it's at the trial stage apparently with 5 forces.
I have seen it brought on before ,there was another member who supplied this on a previous thread I believe .

So, what or who is the original source? Has it come from the police.

What was your reason for asking / their reason for sharing?
Why do you think! Its another step too far and im naturally suspicious of the questions asked by risk averse police forces generated out of campaigning alleged victims which unsurprisingly when i saw the questions proved me right to be suspicious. Look we must always examine any new unilateral tick box excercise invented by plod. The bbc article quoted the needham shooting case as justification but in fact it was the lack of medical proformas and a lying applicant that led to an incident and not the lack of asking partners their opinions. So its not proportionate.

I am not sure I trust you or your posts to be honest. All seems a little old to burst on the scene as a self proclaimed ‘firearms law expert’ then post inflammatory threads and yet refer to the police as ‘the fuzz’.

Your posts are not written in a way that comes across as someone who works in law.

Inflammatory!? 🤣😂 You must be very close to the police then 😁 look take it or leave it. This forum is about information exchange. What are you doing here if you dismiss everything thats said. I don’t have to justify my cv to you but tune in to any future posts and you might start believing I know my stuff. My customers have every faith in the advice I give. It is always explained and referenced.

Anyone here can always ask me a technical or legal question to test me!!

I think what 25 Sharps is referring to is that you joined the forum on Sunday and you have slated BASC on two separate threads and posted this one up.

You don't have a monopoly on being naturally suspicious.

ps welcome to SD

Wtf has joint or separate bank accounts got to do with it???
Honestly, some of those questions are just beyond!
This type of questioning relates to offences of control and coercion. Generally, victims of these offences will not have access to a separate bank account (control element).
The Police are trying to skin the cat in a different way.
I suspect the questions used will have a scoring matrix, some questions will be worth more points than others, and there will be a threshold score for refusal or revocation.
