I'm thinking of getting a hikmicro thunder th35 for night shooting instead of traditional nv scope
Say the arken
What's peoples opinions
Thanks

I’d keep both to be honest, just this past week I’ve been thwarted by rain and mist by taking the wrong sight, just gonna take both tonight and just swap them over as required, having said that some of the rain has been a deluge hereabouts, so no different for either
All I use is the pard 007 and a TCeptor both good at the job 👍
Good luck on what you choose 👍

DNT just came out with the Thermnight TNC225R which is a combined thermal and day/night scope for £1000
The thermal side is OK for short range work (air rifles and rimfires) but not good enough for most centrefire work
However, they have another model with a 12 micron 384 sensor and 35mm lens coming out before too long
That thermal is exactly the same spec as the Thunder TH35
I don't know the price of this new model (it will be called the TNC 335R) but I bet it won't cost any more than Thunder TH35 - and you'd be getting the best of both thermal and NV world in one package - which includes a rangefinder and ballistic calculator - something the Thunder doesn't have and won't get

Cheers

Bruce

Refurbished HiK Thunder TH35's at under £700 at Optics Warehouse.. no brainer, go with that thermal all the way. They have 27 in stock. 12 month warranty.

Whilst I would agree that the combination of thermal spotter and NV scope is fine, there are many situations where locating the quarry after the thermal has spotted it with the NV can be difficult. This really applies in long grass etc.
I'm out most nights with either thermal/NV, thermal/Lamp or thermal/thermal. With the quality of thermal today, recognition really shouldn't be a problem anymore. For me, the most effective setup is the thermal/thermal option.
Having said all that, occasionally I go back many years to my youth when I shot many foxes on the lamp. Just last night I used the thermal (Habroks|) together with a torch (Speras T1) and had a chicken stealing dog fox at 130 yards.

Like old keeper I am thermal thermal, infrared is lovely for higher mag but when you have what I call skeet foxes close and fast or hiding thermal is everything. Quick accusition often makes the difference especially in poor weather. Low mag at range is a problem for me but I live with that.

I was out with a friend who had the £5k Thermion when it first came out, we where watching a litter of cubs, I was using my kite image intensifier to spot, he shot at one, what he couldn't see was that it was in the hedge not on the out side!!

Indeed, you can focus out things like that. Certainly had it with rats and rabbits with the 22 but with a centre fire and preparing for the shot, as long as its safe..

Another vote for thermal spotter nv scope. I us accolades which are brilliant with lrf if needed. Then shoot with a armasight drone nv scope. Anyone that has looked through a Drone will know why I have them on my rifles.

I know thermal scopes have come on leaps, and bounds over the years. I just like to identify with nv 100%

Drones highly regarded, never looked through one though. Open to offers..😁

If you are ever this way let me know
Sorry, newbie.. didn't realise its on your profile! I am in Essex so bit of a drive but thank you very much for the offer. Have a pulsar 455 and secumed to a hik alpex lrf, impulse purchase. stuck it on my 22 as want to get used to it before considering it on a centrefire. I have to admit to being a bit addicted to thermal..😁
