Anyone using a Spartan Javelin Bipod if so what is the best size to fit if your shooting of a car bonnet, roof or on the ground.

Some people saying some are too short or too high. Would appreciate advice before I buy.

It all depends on the height of you to the bonnet and also the bench you use, I have the long and it's perfect for prone but a little high on the bench so standard legs would be better for me, a friend uses standard on the bench and it works for him.

I have an original one which I think is the short one. For laying prone or shooting off a bench I find it too low to use comfortably for any length of time. Depending how flexible you are or how slim and low you can get comfortably will depend if low is high enough for you. The other Spartan bipods I have are all longer and are more comfortable for me.

If you do need to get down prone on the ground then longer legs give you more flexibility on uneven ground or higher cover.

@StevieBoy If its just for bonnet/bench use, have you thought about one of these? I picked up a second-hand one very cheaply and it's so stable that you don't need to vacuum down the base :thumb:

For bench and off bonnet/roof, definitely standard for me. I bought the long by mistake and my rifle was too high even with the legs not extended. I returned the long and got the standard/medium and it’s perfect (again unextended).
Off the ground you might want longer.

For bench shooting the standard length (non extended) is perfect. Prone needs the legs fully extended. The long version with the legs pushed in is pretty much the same as the standard extended. So for stalking the long version is clearly the way to go as it will be perfect flat prone and can help you get over grass when the legs are extended.
