Hi there,
I'm doing an application for a shotgun certificate.
I am almost 46 and was charged and convicted of assault and breach of the peace when i was 16/17 years old so almost 30 years ago.
At around 17/18 years old i was charged and convicted of driving without insurance or tax on a provisional licence, i had a qualified driver with me, it was their car i was driving.
Since then i've had no further contact with the police but got a fixed penalty in the post for speeding back in 2018.
I'm wondering whst's your thoughts on this? do i have a chance of being approved or am i wasting my time?
I have bought a police approved cabinet and key safe aready so if i do get a visit i can show them i'm doing it right.
Cheers for your thoughts guys

Be open and honest with the FEO about your convictions (they will know about them anyway, so it's a test of your honesty)
Given how long ago you were convicted with nothing since then, I can't see them being used to refuse your application

Cheers

Bruce
yeah i've disclosed it all on the application

If you're entirely honest in your application and in the interview then you'll probably be ok, good luck mate!
