moving home, acceptable security in garage

I'm possibly moving house in the near future.
I currently have a dedicated room with multiple safes that are attached to the fabric of the building.
I do not wish to take up a room at the new address.
I'm hoping I can use the garage which is part of the dwelling, brick construction.
There is one door in and out off the utility room.
The other access is a steel roller electric up and over door.
The safes would then be fixed to the brick and concrete floor.
Does anyone see an issue with this?
I know ultimately I need to ask the FEO but I'm trying to anticipate this due to the move is 175 miles away and the short time to secure the firearms.
I will add I will have CCTV inside the garage.
No idea if this is relevant but it's in Scotland and a very quiet village.

cheers

Just had mine done
Safe is in the garage , same situation as you
I was told by central that was fine.
FEO said no you can’t have that , new rules. I refused to move it and when they looked and saw two container locks at the roller door bottom corners they reversed their attitude and said “ oh well in that case it’s fine”

There is nothing saying you can’t use the garage but like everything else now it’s up to the mood of the FEO.

The guidelines from the home office simply say you need to take adequate precautions to ensure the security of the guns etc.

Simply put , the garage is fine.
Although I’d put the cameras outside the garage door

Fitlike Ian. In my previous house, it was a similar construction to what you described, and it was deemed acceptable, with both safes being bolted in the back and through the floor.

Got mine in the garage. Feo was fine. Garage isn't attached, but in front of my house. Electric door. Alarmed. Cctv. Was absolutely fine with it.

A very helpful member on here has just sent me two ‘vivarium heat pads’ which plug into a normal socket but produce enough heat to keep the safe warm and dry in locations like yours.

Whether or not the FEO requires it, worth having a look at the garage door - some are very secure but others are terrible.

Home Office guidance says ‘no’ unless the steel shutter is strong enough (I know it’s guidance not law). Different FEO’s in different areas apply different standards (let’s not get into a conversation about FEO training). The only person that can answer your question is your new FEO. Anything you read on here is pure speculation.

I think I'd want my guns in the house to be honest. I know you don't want to do that, but perhaps I'd give it another think, see if you could make it work. Perhaps a bit of lateral thinking might reveal a suitable location for your cabinet(s).

In the loft and with a loft ladder for easier access?
That would be a right pita having to climb up there every time you wanted a gun out.

You really want it somewhere where, if necessary, you can access it without taking your boots off, so that rules out having to pass through any of the carpeted parts of the house.

There is no is usable loft space in this house.
I have multiple cabinets.
I'm hoping to add extra security to inside of the sectional electric door.
I would also screen them from prying eyes when said door I open.
I have very expensive motorcycles that need protected in the same garage so it will be seriously locked up.
