is you have the cash and you want it then why not, although I find the HE25L perfectly adequate for stalingI'm tempted by the HQ50L as i currently dont have any glass, rangefinder or thermal and figured it would be a good option to get all in one at once.
However, is it overkill for a recreational stalker?
I suppose when they inevitably marry the 4k day/night optics to the better thermal of the more expensive Habroks, those will be the ultimate choice. They will of course become even more expensive, though...My conventional stalking rig for pure day stalking is an Alaskan Guide Creation chest rig with a pair of Leica 10x42 HD-B RF binos and a Telos XP50 to the side in a Molle drinks bottle holder. For FL/LL, I substitute a pair of the HE25L 4K Habroks for the Leica and have the same quick release tails on the AGC harness - takes seconds to change over. However, in this arrangement, I don’t ditch the Telos - it’s there if I need a little more detail and it’s performance in clag/mist/rain is much better than the 4K Habroks. I find the ability on the Habroks to toggle from my cut-down set of palettes between thermal and optical is the best benefit of these binos - no more searching for eternities when you can clearly see something in the thermal spotter but cannot see it optically. In daylight though for most stalking, I prefer the clarity and depth that comes from the Leica. However, the 4K Habroks will certainly certainly “do the job” on their own where productivity is the principle driver.
@SimpleSimon The Telos/Leica combo as I was “brought up” to always use binos to identify and study the animal before taking the shot. If, and it’s the big if, that money was no object, I would possibly go for the top of the range Habroks (I think Pulsar have been overtaken) but given money was no object, I’d probably still be taking along a pair of binos but Leics 10x32 HD or Swaro TA ones. I have stalked purely electronic (Habrok and Alpex 4K LRF or Thermion 2 XP50) but it didn’t feel quite right and it’s only usually during those golden hours. Pure daytime stalking, Telos and Leicas every day but with the rifle scope (see other current thread) dependent upon the quarry and terrain. Close-up Woodland/brambles it’ll be the Thermion, longer range woodland edge (fallow) the Alpex and on the hill/open country, glass. If you could only have either your Habrok HE25L or the Telos/Leica combo, which would you stick with?
Same for me - absolutely love them for deer stalking. Bargain.I've had the 25L since last August. Originally bought as an extra bit of kit for deer stalking but I have now sold my Pulsar XQ38 and Vortex Fury lrf bino's.
OK, thermal resolution is not quite as good but having everything in one package for under £1200 is no brainer.
Absolute game changer IMHO.

For the same sensor size a longer focal length objective lens produces a higher resolution, higher magnification and subsequently narrower field of view. It’s an optical thing that cannot be changed in software. You can electronically zoom in (by displaying smaller areas of the sensor) but you can’t do anything electronically to reduce the base magnification. That’s why the HQ35’s have a wider FOV (lower base magnification) of 3.0x than the 50mm and 60mm focal length Habrok Pros.I have the 50s. I use it for foxing and I’m really happy with them. The only gripe I have, and don’t see why is has to be this way, is that the minimum magnification is 4.3x I’m sure that they could of done it with 2x creating a wider field of view. The 28x magnification seems great on stats, but realistically it’s pointless as it’s too blurred.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they could make it lower magnification via an update?
So the HiKMirco rep was recommending their expensive productAt the shooting show, i spoke HikMicro and the bloke there was saying that the Habrok Pro HQ50L was the best value for money and the one he uses due to the 640 thermal and to basically future proof a bit more to the inevitable updates.
If i can get on a syndicate, i think i will justify the purchase, but as a recreational stalker at the moment, not justified!

Just waiting for the ‘backstop brigade’I've had the HQ35L version for a year now along with the Alpex 4K LRF on both 308 and 243. Haven't felt the need to carry anything else and ended up selling my high end Zeiss bins as they were just gathering dust.
The thermal side of the HQ35s is incredible. Absolutely unbelievable. The day side, not as good a glass but to be honest, I typically switch to the Alpex at that point and view through the scope. The image is absolutely perfect for identification, sexing, observation etc. At first and last light however, it really comes into its own. I've shot deer that I wouldn't have felt comfortable sexing etc. with optics, that have been as clear as day through both the Habrok's and Alpex in night mode (no IR). The image below was about 40 mins after sunset - I spotted the buck through the thermal channel on the Habrok - could just about make him out with the naked eye but melanistic so tough against the tree line. Could I have been confident he was a buck with a glass scope. Extremely unlikely. Took a look through the Alpex and the rest, as they say, is history!

Back to the drawing board. The HQ35L also has the 640 sensor….and a lower base magnification
But it doesn't have 4K day/night optical sensor.
It also doesn't reach 22x magnification and doesn't have picture stabilization.
