Just back from the stalking show , personally we had a great day as usual well run , fantastic parking right outside ( don’t let me rant about the 15 minute hike last year at the game fair ! ) plenty to look at and plenty to buy ,
Didn’t really need anything but still came away with a stunning deer print , folding gambrel , knife and some gin only disappointment was not finding a set of bushwear sticks , sold out on first day and a roe knife , again sold out
Thanks to the bds great stand and great idea of the vip area , free drink and a chill out
If anyone unsure about visiting tomorrow go for it , great day !

Went today and had a tour around the many stands

Caught up with some friends in the trade and friends who were visiting the show

Left at eleven (I really, really don’t like crowds) home by one

Highlights (for me )

Zeiss and Schmidt displays of their products

Nice to handle a Sauer 505 - unfortunately would be very spendy as the carbon stocked model has almost zero flex on the forend unlike the synthetic version

Missed catching up with the NRL Hunter UK team - didn’t know you were at the show till I read your post on here

Good to see examples of modular larders on show from two providers (what I actually attended the show to look at) but a pity there were not any other providers showing their products

Show seemed to be well attended

What a great show, as ever. Managed to get everything I was after, at show prices, except a bino harness. I had a bloody gorgeous Argentinean venison (fallow) kebab. Must find a recipe.
Back tomorrow for the butchery competition. I hope I do better than I did on the BDS quiz.
The show is 3 days next year. Start saving up everybody.

First visit for a number of years and was very impressed with how the show has grown which made the 7 hour round trip worthwhile.
Thought there were plenty of deals available and it was good to catch up with some shooting friends.
We arrived around 8:45 to be greeted with long queues, apparently due to internet issues.
Food court was great and the traders I spoke with were unanimously pleased with the footfall and sales.
Great value for the money

Me and the boy got home an hour or so ago. 7 hour round trip but worth the effort. Caught up with a few old faces, got hands on with some nice bits of kit which is always good, really like the mauser m25 and had some good advice from a hikmicro rep without the sales push. Came home with a new jet sled and cart (thank you @Stirlinggundogs). The venison kebab was excellent too! Heard a rumour next year will be over 3 days, downside is the wife is making noises about wanting to come along!

I’m helping my friend at his stand (36) Steel Action rifles, Akila and Schmidt and Bender, etc.

Saw a bunch of trade and industry people I know and have worked with before. Some of my old pro staff from my former employer, and some great friends. @Edinburgh Rifles stand is awesome again this year! 👏

The Argyll Game food kicks arse! Well done Tom and team.

Come say hello if you pass stand 36 (Harkness et Al) opposite Brand ECOSSE.

Cheers

I got there just before 9, parking no problem, long queue even for those who pre-paid, poor internet / 4G causing issues with the QR scanners for entry, staff doing their best to get us in asap.
Very good set up inside, loads to see and some great show exclusive deals to be had.
Really positive vibe in the halls and plenty of people laiden down with bags on exit.
Great to catch up with suppliers in person, putting faces to names.
Hat off to every single exhibitor and the organisers, a huge amount of effort has gone into organising and setting up stands etc.
One of the best events I’ve been to recently….if it’s good enough for Vinnie Jones it will do me 👍🏼

Great day - well worth the 7hr round trip
Loved seeing proper dogs everywhere !
Bagged the new Pixfra Volans on a cracking deal - very happy ! and a couple of swanky hats + some Copper for testing
thanks to all the sellers coping with the dodgy wifi for their card machines - i didn’t mind being off grid from my phone for the day, couldn’t take any calls ;-)

It’s far better than the zoo which is the Shooting Show.

I spent four happy hours wandering around, scored a very satisfactory deal on a new Hikmicro monocular and bought some Weschenfelder burger mix to try.

(l also nabbed a BASC leaflet intended for police officers because it described stalkers as “furtive”, an adjective I’ll do my best to live up to!)

I’ll see you there again next year.

Would love to see that leaflet and the context of futive.

Could you photo and post on new thread ?

Parking, facilities and exhibitors all excellent.

Me too. May be just me but felt a little smaller than last year ……. Still well organised and live the easy in and out. Picked up some bits n bobs and am now VERY tempted by a Mauser M25 !

My first visit to the Stalking show, have visited The Game Fair several times, the Shooting show at Harrogate plus several Midland Game Fairs in the past and locally Lowther Show when it was on, however I think the Stalking show was the best of all of them, lots of appropriate stands, covering all my interests. Only downside was the card payment delays but overall an excellent event, well done

Brilliant show ! We all had a great time - loads of great equipment - not too bust - no queues - nice pint - people really really engaging and friendly

Wonder if police know what furtive means , I had to look it up !! . Our first time at show decent parking and nice to only see shooting related gear
