Summer boots

Hi all
I'm in need of some warm weather preferably waterproof ankle boots for summer use, not too hard underfoot as I have a bad back and knees, and wide fit, lowa renegade have been suggested but does anyone have any other ideas
Cheers

I did go to altberg the other day and they don't do what im after, and they were honest in saying that their waterproof lining will make my feet sweat

I have some Haix boots for summer and they'd tick all your boxes except the waterproof bit, totally useless in wet grass.
It depends how waterproof you want them to be as it will always impact on breathability, despite goretex etc claims in my opinion. I accept damp feet in summertime as a trade off.

Any waterproof lining will make your feet sweat.

These are great summer boots. Bit of dubbing and they keep you plenty dry for summer use. I use the same in winter with gortex socks.

Yeah water repellent would be fine, just a bit of something to hold it back, comfort is the main thing

Another vote for the Salomon quest.
I use mine year round, and while the waterproof lining doesn't last most of my hunting involves wading and once you're deeper than the top of your gaiters nothing is waterproof. I usually drill a hole in the instep to let the water out of waterproof boots.

The Salomon quest 04 are good water proof and light weight
Great boot, but narrow fitting if the OP is after a wide boot. I eventually ended up giving them away. I tried some lightweight AKU offerings, but couldn’t get on with them. They seemed very unstable and managed to roll my ankle a couple of time in them climbing fences. Hanwag Banks GTX have served me well. They have been like slippers from day one. The sole is quite soft and flexible, almost on par with the Salomon from memory.

I use the same leather lowa boots all year round, just with one thin merino sock for spring and summer. Tried a variety of fabric 'summer boots' and none could cope with heavy dew foot stalk before wet feet.

Had my Renegade's all this weekend on my ground is South Ayrshire - probably the best boot around when conditions are very warm

The Lowa Tibet ankle boot is also a very good option as they don't have the Primaloft insulation layer which is present in the "Hunter" version, Tibet's are also available in a wide-fit option 👍

Another vote for Hanwags.
I can't remember which model they are (£300 ish) and these are my winter boots. They do everything I've asked of them, nice and wide, comfy, no blisters etc.

Take a look at Hanwags offerings and try a few on to see for yourself?

This is the problem nowadays, where to go and try them on, it seems to be either buy a load of boots and try them all at home hoping they can be returned with no fuss or try what are at shows which I struggle with cis of the wide fit, and obviously suppliers can't take everything to a show

I have/am using Keen boots quite wide in suede, fit like you have been wearing them for ever.
they come in 1/2 sizes

Not for everyone but after a lifetime of wearing boots everyday for me these have been a revelation. I ruptured an Achilles about 10 years ago and until I decided to give these a go, wearing boots became slightly uncomfortable as the day wore on. Not waterproof but good enough for me.

My Lowa Renegades are superb - very comfortable, not too hot at all even in warmer conditions, waterproof, and seem to be pretty much indestructible! Highly recommended 👌🏻

I’m struggling to find a pair just now
My feet have grown a little bit and finding the make of boot that fits just right is a challenge. All my boots have went from a 43 to be replaced with a 44 in the last year, expensive year.

Summer walking shoes are the next purchase.
