The Salomon quest 04 are good water proof and light weigh.
Any waterproof lining will make your feet sweat.I did go to altberg the other day and they don't do what im after, and they were honest in saying that their waterproof lining will make my feet sweat
Great boot, but narrow fitting if the OP is after a wide boot. I eventually ended up giving them away. I tried some lightweight AKU offerings, but couldn’t get on with them. They seemed very unstable and managed to roll my ankle a couple of time in them climbing fences. Hanwag Banks GTX have served me well. They have been like slippers from day one. The sole is quite soft and flexible, almost on par with the Salomon from memory. The Salomon quest 04 are good water proof and light weight
Had my Renegade's all this weekend on my ground is South Ayrshire - probably the best boot around when conditions are very warmHi all
I'm in need of some warm weather preferably waterproof ankle boots for summer use, not too hard underfoot as I have a bad back and knees, and wide fit, lowa renegade have been suggested but does anyone have any other ideas
Cheers

Another vote for Hanwags.Hanwag Banks GTX have served me well. They have been like slippers from day one. The sole is quite soft and flexible, almost on par with the Salomon from memory.
This is the problem nowadays, where to go and try them on, it seems to be either buy a load of boots and try them all at home hoping they can be returned with no fuss or try what are at shows which I struggle with cis of the wide fit, and obviously suppliers can't take everything to a showTake a look at Hanwags offerings and try a few on to see for yourself?
I have/am using Keen boots quite wide in suede, fit like you have been wearing them for ever. This is the problem nowadays, where to go and try them on, it seems to be either buy a load of boots and try them all at home hoping they can be returned with no fuss or try what are at shows which I struggle with cis of the wide fit, and obviously suppliers can't take everything to a show

they come in 1/2 sizes
My Lowa Renegades are superb - very comfortable, not too hot at all even in warmer conditions, waterproof, and seem to be pretty much indestructible! Highly recommendedHad my Renegade's all this weekend on my ground is South Ayrshire - probably the best boot around when conditions are very warm
The Lowa Tibet ankle boot is also a very good option as they don't have the Primaloft insulation layer which is present in the "Hunter" version, Tibet's are also available in a wide-fit option![]()
