We weren’t asked to prove a negative, we were asked to prove how our continued use of lead can be justified.

Dunwater is it possible that you are Mike L’s dad I wouldn't hold your breath !I look forward to the state funded purchase of all my bullets, ammunition and cartridges
As will many, shops, distributors and users. But it will not happen the government got burnt with the pistol ban given the cost of compensation far exceed estimates and the government did not have a 29 billion black hole plus from memory it was necessary due to some EU law.I look forward to the state funded purchase of all my bullets, ammunition and cartridges
The big unknown is whether the cartridge manufacturers can satisfy demand, the NGO have very wisely stated that they want the government to liaise with the manufacturers during the passage of this legislation. Hopefully both the review stages in the Lords and Committee will subject this aspect to an in depth scrutiny. As will many, shops, distributors and users. It’s hard enough now to buy some types of components, can see it getting a lot worse likely from next year going forward, who would manufacture or import any of the type of projectiles, shot, ammo or cartridges that if unsold will become illegal to sell or use and can only be disposed of as scrap lead, potentially costing the business a lot of money.
So in practice, we are likely will be forced in to using non-toxic quite a lot sooner than 2029.
unless one stocks up for personal use and if still in possession come 2029 they take the risk to continue using it which could risk a fine and certificate/s revoked.

drinking corperation pop, which came through lead pipes, playing with your lead soldiers with your mates, doing pocket money jobs painting with lead paint, going on bomb sights mooching for lead scraps, to weigh in at the local scrap yard, to get some pocket money to spend on lead pellets, i worked in the water industry for 34 years handling tons of lead pipe, and when i retired i was tested for lead in my body, and guess what ? my test came out negative no sign of any lead, makes you think doesnt it.There’s an exemption to the establishment, politicians, party donors and HNWLet’s hope they all own purdey or the likes shotguns![]()
It's all been over hyped to create a narrative to protect the privileged and trample on the little guy.anyone remember as a kid out hunting rats roosting pidgeons, with your bsa mk1 airsporter, with a load of lead pellets in your mouth, drinking corperation pop, which came through lead pipes, playing with your lead soldiers with your mates, doing pocket money jobs painting with lead paint, going on bomb sights mooching for lead scraps, to weigh in at the local scrap yard, to get some pocket money to spend on lead pellets, i worked in the water industry for 34 years handling tons of lead pipe, and when i retired i was tested for lead in my body, and guess what ? my test came out negative no sign of any lead, makes you think doesnt it.

The price of lead bullets has also gone up premium lead bullets has a similar price as premium copper bullets. An old copper mine are opening in northern Sweden they see a future high demand of copper in europe and a decline of copper producers limits the availability. For me and a lot of other shooters Its the cost My 6.5x55 RWS green £65 to £80.. Eley Blade £55 to £65 Shotgun cartridges Eley eco wad £13.50 a box That's a lot of pigeon shooters packing it in. Then there's the reloading.. Barnes £63 for a box of 50.. And before you say the prices will come down when there mass producing them they will not.
For shooting guys on a budget its worrying times ahead.
The cartridge manufacturers are asleep at the wheel
They are already behind in the products available across the calibre lines
You will see a huge explosion in smaller businesses adapting
BioAmmo, etc
That was the Queen of Hearts.Your latest blinkered denial of the obvious reminds me of an Alice in Wonderland where Humpty Dumpty states that when he uses a word it means just what he chooses it to mean nothing more nothing less.
Up until now I had given you the benefit of the doubt thinking that perhaps you were a little slow hence my repeated attempts at explanation of my point.
It seems however you are just an apologist for a BASC employee more concerned with his favoured topics of partridges and inconclusive lead ingestion figures rather than acting in the best interests of the shooting community.
Just how far does this pragmatism take you and how much are you prepared to compromise going down that route.
Well thats rich, I take there are no mirrors in your house?Regardless , I’ll not be wasting my time indulging you further, life’s too short to bother with zealots incapable of critical thought.
Tu quoque. You are calling me blinkered when you personally are obsessive and unable to even consider alternative explanations to your own flawed conclusions?
He didn't do anything of the sort. Clement Attlee never met Hitler or had any dealings with him.Was Clement Attlee a hypocrite when he negotiated a peace treaty with Hitler and promptly put your country on a war footing?
Ballsmay not be the fault of the cartridge manufactures, you may not have noticed in sleepy scotlandbut wars are happing causing supply problems especially propellant.
With all due respect the Lead Ammunition Group's anti efforts preceded this by a number of yearsHere’s the link to the ECHA proposals.

This is what’s driving the lead ban, including yours.
