East Hants Gunsmith- Blue Fieldsports?

Hi all,

Can anyone reccomend a gunsmith in the East Hampshire area? Have been trying to zero a new (second hand) gun and haven't yet been able to shoot it remotely straight. I need help diagnosing the issue and therefore someone who can put some shots through the gun on a range and then re-thread the barrel if necessary.

Blue Fieldsports is close- have found their website but if anyone could vouch for them on here it would be really helpful, not much info on them on SD!

Is accuracy carp only with a mod fitted or also without?

You might want to give a bit more detail about the calibre, then there might be a few suggestions about setting it up.

What range(s) do you have available to you?

What scope are trying? Have you started with a basic bore sighting with MK1 Eyeball?

I have been to Blue Field, and bought a shotgun, seem very friendly although it is/was by appt, but haven't availed of the gunsmithing.

Another one that has a decent name is Rakers in Petworth, but I haven't popped in there myself yet.

It only shoots badly when the Mod is on.

I am reasonably sure what the issue is; some sort of interference / clipping the moderator but it has got to the stage where I'd like a professional opinion- preferably someone as local as possible and who can fire some rounds and see the issue themselves and then fix it!

Did the mod come with it? Or reusing a mod that worked fine on a previous rifle?

Which mod? If something like a Wildcat, you could try a different bridge to check if it is the rifle thread or mod thread that is potentially out of true.

It came with the Gun, bought from a shop as a package, which is another reason I'd like an expert opinion on it!

Good point however the shop is the other side of the country from me. I'm not hugely experienced and don't necessarily want to rule out user error and cause a fuss over nothing whilst paying lots for couriers/RFD (probably more than the gun is worth)!! I'd rather find an independent and trusted local gunsmith I could drop the gun off with at this stage to get their opinion. Have been recommended MW Guns but they are a 2hr drive so hoping to find someone a bit closer to East Hampshire!

If bullet is clipping the mod, the bullet will be tumbling by the time it hits the target and will not be punching round holes.
Have you let an experienced rifle shooter shoot the rifle ?

Thanks for this- an experienced mate has had a go! Definitely ready to send the gun to a professional though.

Hello, There is a gun shop in Portsmouth that has good reviews ?? If it is just an Air Rifle why not take to a local range as there will be people who can say what the problem is thats for sure ??

Rakers nr Petworth is about the closest as I'm east hants area too. They have gunsmiths on site. Give them a call 01428 708102 and discuss with them. Closed Sundays and Mondays.
