Sub forum idea …

Maybe there could be sub forums for:

lead ban - yeah it’s a **** idea and a step towards ending shooting but it’s not getting unwound by the Commies

BASC bashing - yeah they suck, are entirely disingenuous and self serving, much like a charity… but just leave and move on? They don’t deserve mainstream attention

That way people can use the forum without seeing these topics rotate over and over and over again…

Some other topics we don’t need reminding of … tax is going up, UK set to be Islamic country soon, we all die in the end ..

No, lead ban is very pertinent to all shooters, and even if it does touch on the political at times it should definitely remain where all can see it and contribute. Any individual posts that are considered too political could simply be deleted from the thread.

like it or not they are the largest shooting org by some way so it's a justified claim

I'd agree if the questions were regarding specific aspects, ie what alternatives are there what exemptions there are etc if certain guns/rifles/bullets/cartridges can be used etc.

Threads that are there to argue if the ban is a good idea or not or going after an organisation or the government are just another spin off from any other political thread.

Anyone who believes that such a slogan applies in the literal sense to every single shooter no matter their sport or feelings is a moron. Does the opinion and direction of the SGA represent every single Scottish gamekeeper? Judging by the convictions for killing BOP I'd say clearly they don't.

BASC can attempt to be the voice of shooting and represent as many as possible but clearly not everyone.

If you accept that a lead ban was inevitable, I think they’ve done quite well in negotiations.
I think they made a complete cock of the voluntary transition and I think that they should never have supported the licensing regime for grouse shooting in Scotland.
They should be beaten about the head with a sock of wet shite for accepting the lower level of proof of BOP persecution required to withhold licenses.

I don't accept that, I believe that there may have been an element of collusion between BASC, Swift and the LAG on this, it would be amazing if BASC and Swift never discussed the matter.
