R8 with 6.5 prc barrel first 8 shots of hornady eld match 147 noticed two out of the eight shot cartridge had a impression on the head the case didn't expect to see it coming from factory ammo just wondering has anyone else seen this what's your thoughts and opinions on it.
Thanks

How clean is your barrel? If you have a carbon ring, that will increase pressure. It could be the ammo but I would be checking out the barrel if you have access to a bore scope.

Brand new and deeply cleaned before the first eight shots and bore scoped to make sure was clean don't really understand it.

I cannot see those speeds creating pressure issues - they are way down on where I would expect - even for a Blaser. Was there any sense of hard case extraction? Marking of brass on a brand new rifle may well be to do with the brass sizing in the chamber. Hornady brass has a poor rep in the 6.5 PRC - I've seen some not take three firings before the primer pockets slackened. I'd try some different ammo.

No Eric came out just like any the others there seems to be only the two with a mark on them don't know if you can see it from the pictures. Yea gonna have to try other ammo and see.

I had a particularly spicy box of factory .308 150 grain Hornady SSTs last year. Flattened primers, gouges out of the brass from extractor and stiff bolt lifts. They were pretty much bang on the advertised box velocities out of my 20 inch barrel too.

Moved to Sako Gamehead pros and haven't had an issue since.

Yea that looks a lot more marking than what i have. That was the 147 match have a box 143 so will try it and see if it does the same.

Thought it might be with the marks on the head the case cant think of what else would cause it other than that.
Well there is high pressure present standard. You may have slight more headspace than the next chap but you have nothing to worry about at all 👍

The primers are not flattened they still have rounded edges so I would suggest that they are not over pressure.

Just never seen it before with factory ammo but from sounds of others seems to be common enough.
