Pack upgrade and boot replacement – need advice

Gotta admit, a few models really caught my eye.
Get the right fit and you won’t regret it, great support and durable, you can pick them up on eBay etc new for half the cost of shops, they also do a wide fitting which is what put me into them in the first place.

I’ll make my choice in the next few days, thanks for the info. I’ll also take a look on eBay.

Best boots I have ever used in the UK is the Iturri offering as used by the British army. Very comfortable from first use. Do not need to be "broken in". Can be a tad warm on hotter days. Utterly waterproof.

2nd these as well as long as they fit your feet. I have been pretty happy with mine. Bought mine through a store on eBay that had 30 day returns for about £45

Thanks for the recommendations! I had already looked into Exo packs, but they’re a bit too expensive for me at the moment, maybe I’ll get lucky and find a good deal second-hand. I didn’t know about the boots, they look really tough. I’m actually thinking of switching from boots to high-cut shoes.
I wish you luck with the 2nd hand EXO. I don't imagine anyone who has one will part with theirs. They are the best I've used. Several of my friends have now bought one too.
I run mine with just a meat shelf for lifting animals. 2 sika is a nice load, or a full red hind.
I have also taken 2 Tahr off a mountain in NZ with it. I made my own rifle attachment system for it.

I’m thinking I need to invest in an Exo pack, I’ve spotted the Eberlestock F1 Mainframe. What do you think? I know it probably doesn’t match an Exo in quality, but it might be a good start, right?

A different mate has an Eberlestock...it's night and day of difference. Personally, I wouldn't take the gift of one. I am no fan of the aluminium frame with that shelf out the back.
If you can get a kindly American to post so you can dodge import theft, the EXO frame and krib load panel would cost less than £350. The Eberlestock probably £200-250. Save a while longer then buy once and cry once.
Or if you can get a law enforcement type mate to buy it they will do a 10-15% discount

Altberg Defenders are my go to choice of boot. Plenty of choice available on EBay and don't cost a fortune.

You're right, I'll save up a bit more and go for an Exo that's already proven. Thanks !

I have a mystery ranch pack which is as new and I’d be willing to part with if it was of interest?
