Good Gun clubs/shooting ranges near Bristol?

Hi everyone, my current gun club is the tunnel target sports centre in Dorset. It’s a great club, they’re good as gold there but the drive is long and I’d like something a bit closer so I can shoot more often. Does anyone have any recommendations for a full bore rifle club near the Bristol area?

I use and rate Severnside (Cardiff Shooting Centre) at the old MOD Rogiet Moor range just over the bridge. Only Wednesday and Saturdays now 100/200yds and let out to other clubs to use on Sundays.

You also have the Rifleman’s 100yd tunnel at Langport.

Or indeed, the tunnels in Monmouth.

There’s a tunnel range in Barry as well. I think it is called Phoenix or something like that.

I shoot at Monmouth but I shot at Rogiet recently at 600m as a guest of Bristol Muzzle Loaders. Might be worth a try.

Rogiet Moor is the new MOD range that replaced the Severnside Range; the latter being sold off to CSC. It must be booked through Landmarc's system following MOD booking processes which requires a UIN, and the range session must conform to MOD requirements. Some organisations can mange this process but not individuals.

Does that mean no Creedmoor shooters being MOD? asking for a friend.

Due to the nature of the range, ie it has butts as opposed to a open danger trace, I believe the answer is yes :(
Sorry, misread your question - yes, there are quite a few DDM stalkers with 6.5’s also affected by the ban. Just means that you have to travel to a range where 6.5 can be used.

Just for the sake of historical accuracy the name of the old former MOD range was Severn Tunnel not Severnside and Cardiff Shooting Centre have a lease rather than owning it. As you say the "new" MOD range is Rogiet Moor and it does have a danger area which extends across the foreshore and estuary. It also has a public footpath that runs straight across the top of the buts just the same as on the Severn Tunnel range.
I don't know for certain if the 6.5mm ban applies to the Rogiet Moor range but would be surprised if it doesn't. There is no such ban on the Severn Tunnel range it being a civilian range.

Wytonpjs did you ever shoot on the old Pilning range which was on the opposite side of the river to Severn Tunnel range? I believe they may have shared the danger area.
This was another range that was affected by the new Severn crossing. I never shot on it myself but remember seeing parts of it from the second Severn crossing just after that bridge opened.

Not that I can recall, although as an ATC member at the beginning of the 70s, I shot a lot of ranges that I have no recollection of where they were or how we got there there 🤭 Just piled into an old minibus and went on "interesting" road trips 😂

Back in the 70s at different times I was in both the ATC and the army cadets. Funny enough although we didn't have our own range (the army cadets did) I shot more often with the ATC than I did with the army cadets. I can remember all the ranges that I shot on but all bar every one of them since gone. :(

Why not have a look at Frome and District Pistol Club (they are based in Shepton Mallet)
It’s a large friendly club with in indoor 25 and 50 mr ranges. The shoot full bore mainly at Warminster and Bulford with one or 2 trips to Bisley each year. They are currently taking in prospective new members. Check out their website.

Sorry, perhaps I was not clear. I meant give Bristol Muzzle Loaders a try. They Clearly do shooting other than muzzle loading ( they certainly didn't have any when I shot with them).

No you were right first time my bad English, I meant 6.5 and being a MOD range
