A pointless thread. What is the most pointless commercially available in the UK cartridge out there?

We have had lots of what’s the best?

What’s the least versatile most pointless that has been launched, has been commercially available but just doesn’t do whatever..,.

Has to have been commercially available in the UK, so not including wildcats developed in other parts of the world.

Haven’t a clue where to start….

Some like 244 H&H were all the rage, but only available in very expensive rifles and got superseded by mainstream 243 Winchester

Some like the 22-250 - why have a fast flat shooting cartridge that is limited legally in what you can shoot, when the 243 does everything 22-250 can do, but with correct bullet you can shoot a red deer.

I have pulled the pin ,,,,,,,

Any that’s not legal for the use you’d like to put it to.
KB.

.22short, 17 mach2 and probably anything bigger than a 300 win mag as the rozzers won’t want you to have it!!

.204 Ruger
  • relatively overbore so increased barrel wear
  • Ammo cost and availability (at least in Ireland)
  • Not ideal for humane dispatch but also more expansive than needed for foxes and rabbits.
  • .223 / .22-250
