You know it’s little wonder Americans won’t let there be any kind of licensing on firearms. I mean aside from of course there constitutional right and the culture being quite gun heavy I think it’s plain to see that free roam access leads to unnecessary harm by a few and I bet there is a bunch who would welcome some tightening on access if it reduced gun crime But they only have to look over the pond and see what happens when you let there be any kind of power on that freedom even if just for hunting like it is over here and see how easily it’s abused by politicians.

I think unless guns are made an absolute indisputable right then it’s going to just be eroded entirely and all for what ? Seriously for what ? Gun crime is mostly if not all through gangs knife crime is off the charts. But let’s target the most law abiding people in the room and say we’ve done something good.

Time for the shooting community to march the streets at Westminster and make itself known.

No doubt it will be, bet your bottom fkn dollar it will be fishing, it’ll be said to be harmful to aquatic life ect.

The governments of the west are getting far to powerful, and getting to being very authoritarian I think. The gov is there to run and protect the country, seems to only be eroding freedoms whether it’s what you can do where you can go to what you say.

This applies equally to car owners who have four or five vehicles, and they also can only drive one at a time, but nobody minds or complains about them. :)
 
What would be good reason to own a pair of english SBS? do I need to start collecting photos of me 'double-gunning' with a loader? Or would good reason be the fact that one or the other spends most of its time broken?
Will it be accepted that you can had a new shotgun for high speed steel and an older one for low speed steel?
What about those of us with teenage children. The admin burden would be immense if every two years I had to swap 410 for 20b for 12b
What about joint access to cabinets. Am I only allowed access to the shotguns for which I have demonstrated good reason.

So many questions.
 
I’m not sure how it is a death knell for British shooting but I’m open to being educated.

There’s some people that have cabinets bursting with guns that don’t see daylight for more than a few outings per certificate life cycle.

Because under s1 rules it is "use it or lose" it AND at renewal an FEO can ask to see evidence of use.

For any weapon held for target shooting as a member of a Home Office approved club you will have to have a record at the club where you shoot of how often you visit and what particular you use. With any period of greater than six months being deemed showing no longer having continuous good reason.

Whereas in s2 it is law that a person may possess a shot without any need to demonstrate that they intend to ever themselves use it. Which for some may then mean them having to show membership of a clay pigeon shooting club and regular attendances there.

And if s2 is "abolished" the s1 rules will then perhaps apply. Further that then my also lead to sub 12ft/lbs air weapons here in England and Wales becoming subject to the same regime as in Scotland where possession for solely back garden plinking is NOT considered a "good reason" to possess an air weapon.
