Has anyone used the Olight Javelot Tac as a rifle lamp? I was thinking of purchasing one, only needs to throw a beam 150-200 yards, open to any other sugestions for something in the £100 bracket.

looks like a great piece of kit but like you say pricey for meNight Master Trident is an incredible bit of kit. It will easily do what you require, but it is twice your budget... I was blown away when I first used one.
the nightmaster 800 appears to be quite dificult to get hold of at the moment, found them on cambers but close to £200, is this the sort of price to expect?I have Olights, I find the beam to wide to be of any good as a scope mounted torch. As a hand held shooting light, brilliant. I use nm800, no issues with it
After chatting with freeforester above I purchased the bigger version the vastlite bow zoom. It cost about £80 on Black Friday deal I think and it turned up today.View attachment 449513
Size of your thumb; throws a tight beam to 700 metres, or 350m on half power; weighs 91grammes as shown, battery, alkathene spacer and mount. £65 - £80 depending on where you buy it from. LEP
Nothing not to like, great performance but if rabbiting go for it’s bigger brother The Vastlite bow as it has a larger capacity battery ( and a push on off rear button switch. Buy a spare battery when you’re at it, they weigh minimal.
That model is called the Vastlite VERSA bow. It runs a 21700 battery also, which has a greater capacity than 18650 whilst being only marginally larger. After chatting with freeforester above I purchased the bigger version the vastlite bow zoom. Just tested it out the window and it’s ridiculous, beam is tight and the distance is unbelievable. Weighs nothing at all and is smaller than all shooting torches. No brainer.
Yes your right it’s the vastlite versa bow zoom. Same batteries as my thermal so that keeps life simple. I will only need to use it on low power mode and still light up further than I can shoot. That model is called the Vastlite VERSA bow. I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever, I just like stuff that works.![]()

Just not worth it, old technology now.the nightmaster 800 appears to be quite dificult to get hold of at the moment, found them on cambers but close to £200, is this the sort of price to expect?
I have (After info from Freeforester) a Mini Bow, Vastlite Bow and an Acebeam W10.I bought a Fenix TK30R, which is really well constructed and USB C rechargeable , but larger than Vastlite (which I'll buy also). The LEP technology is the way forward. Clear illumination in a small beam way beyond sensible shooting range.
Once we find another three bow buyers we can bulk order the 18650 battery shell extension tubes and save on the postageI have (After info from Freeforester) a Mini Bow, Vastlite Bow and an Acebeam W10.
All are superb and the only downside of LEPs that I can see is how much light the reflect back at you if you catch a fence post or wire netting etc in the beam.
All round, superior to LED types.
IMO, Ken.
