Where to buy Liquid Lanolin

Hello. As some may not know lanolin is, because that is what it is, known also as "wool fat" so anhydrous lanolin as it is also called is actually a grease in its natural state. I used to use a 50/50 mixture of lanolin and castor oil by weight for commercial bullet swaging. Just be careful not to touch your mouth and lick your lips afterwards!
The mixture was made by warming the castor oil in a double saucepan. Known to many as a "porringer". The lanolin was then added and stirred to mix. And the now combined product poured into jars. It does as it was needed to as it doesn't compress and "stays put" for swaging be that lead bullets or jacketed bullets so I'd think it would also be fine for bullet lubricant.
Note that much that may be sold with the label "liquid lanolin" doesn't contain much more than 30% to 60% actual real "wool fat" aka anhydrous lanolin at all. It will be "cut" with some other thing as I also "cut" my lanolin as said above. Hope it helps.

I'm in the same boat Dougie, been looking for ages and always out of stock. Don't do what I did and buy the other stuff(anhydrous) because it's not soluble in isopropyl alcohol.
As EnfieldSpares says, you just buy lanolin, mix with Castor Oil (both from any decent chemist, or Amazon, or larger supermarket) and you have a liquid, great at protecting your rifle from rust because it sticks. I use it to lube my full case sizing dies as well: just put it on one case and bullet in every 50, then none will stick to the die.

I started using Hornadys one shot spray case lube a few years back (used to use redding imperial sizing was and dry graphite neck lube). I've never looked back and since switching. Its so much quicker, leaves no residue and have never had a sticky or dented case. I'd be curious to see if its Lanolin based?
