Has anyone flown Rwandan Airlines? (London Heathrow to Johannesburg)
The prices look attractive. How bad can it be?
And do they take Firearms?

I recognise that this question is likely to solicit some humorous comments but I would be grateful if anyone has any actual knowledge.

“Would you like an outside seat sir?”

Joking aside, I’d think about two things - firstly do you really want to trust the combinations of a low budget airline & Heathrow with firearms? Secondly - if you’ve seen flights coming & going from Africa you will know what “space for Africa” means…

Personally I’d pay the extra & hedge my bets on a mainstream carrier where there’s likely to be more chance of less going wrong.

Always book a seat at the back of the aircraft….they seldom reverse into mountains😂😂😂.

i think long gone are the days when Zambia Airways with their DC 10 jacked up the aeroplane to check the undercarriage only for the end of work hooter to go. They had only jacked up the middle. Came back to find a slight bow down the fusalage. Easy fix - jack up each end and let it sag back into shape. That was late 1970’s - it was still flying in the 1990’s. I had a Zambian trainee PPL license. When I was at the government office in lusaka they offered me, for about US$ a fully qualified commercial pilots licence for a DC10.

These days any aircraft operating into and out of UK / European airspace has to meet all our standards.

Rwanda is one of those little countries that has always been prosperous and well run. They had a wee bit of trouble in the late 1990’s, but that was really overflow from the Congo War - pretty much an all African affair with Mugabe, Gadafi etc along with all of Russia and every despotic regime piling in to get access to all the mineral wealth.

Yeah I’ve flown Nairobi to Kigali a few times…. Not for a few years though. I dont think I had any significant complaints. Can’t comment on firearms though.

Rwanda airlines is not air India, suggest the low cost alternative; landing gear hold/ extreme budget seat option (unsighted if ammo needs to be packed separately on this route).

I fly emirates as they are pretty reliable and take firearms free which is lot better than BA also Ba has no office in JNB so firearms enquires have to go back to London . So I was told in JNB police office in JNB in September
