Hi all

Can anyone recommend a good torch for foxing OTHER THAN NIGHTMASTER
Anyone had a torch for years trouble free as I have had nothing only trouble with both my nightmaster nm1 sl and trident sent the trident back and was told it couldn't be fixed I presume the nm1 will be the same

What’s wrong with the NM1 ? If you would like to post it I will take a look at it I still have a few spare parts

It won't turn on and when your screwing the battery cap on it flashes every so often on the way down and when it's tight nothing at all have tried holding it for a few seconds incase it was locked out but makes no difference whatsoever

Never had an issue with Nightmaster - but the Speras T1 beats it hands down these days
I'm must be unlucky then so both mine gave trouble the trident can't be fixed seemingly so was a complete waste of money beginning to think the same about the nm1 sl

Yep, Trident packed up within a few months. Brilliant torch while it worked.
While it worked is right mine lasted about 6 months and was told it was out of warranty when I sent it back must have been in the shop for a while before I bought it. For a expensive enough torch there not great

I worked with NM for a couple of years I would like to think we dealt with any problems quickly I left around 4 years ago but still had a few spare parts ,over the last four year I have repaired damage or broken lamps kept the fault parts in a bag so last year when I attended the stalking show I took the faulty parts when I handed them over I was tool we don’t sell that sh#t any more I was quite shocked

Same with ours. My brother was slow to post it back, and was told that it was out of warranty. He's not one to argue or make a fuss, so it's sat in his cupboard ever since. It was a lot of money for him to shell out on a torch. I was surprised he spent so much, as he's never flush.

I wasn't overly happy being told that nothing could be done with my trident anyway and got the impression that they could care less either

I’ve had my NM800 for 10 years, not had an issue with and it’s been abused. I guess quality has slipped badly

Vastlite, zoom one

Hmm.
I have three NMs which I have acquired over the years prior to going IR and thermal.
They are all still working and I think have excellent build quality - maybe yet again manufacturing was outsourced to a land far, far away and quality suffered?
The op may wish to try dear old Bruce’s trick of placing a small magnet on the negative end of the battery thus eliminating poor contact - I know it reincarnated my elderly but still very powerful Dragonfly and a couple of cheap imitations….
