Good Afternoon All,

I hope your well and had good weekend,

I am picking up a used Weihrauch HW100 thumbhole in 22 next Saturday, I'm a bit unsure of which scope mag. range to get for it to use with pard007.

Looking at going with a Hawke Vantage or Nikko Stirling Panamax

Was thinking 3-9x50, 3-12x50, 4-12x50.

Hawke Vantage 3-12 x 44 or 4-16 x44 SF is an excellent scope for an air rifle and matches well with a Pard 007, you do not need 50mm objective lenses on an air rifle, the extra weight etc is totally unnecessary in MHO.

Search this forum, @mealiejimmy did a whole comprehensive list.
Basically, any parallax-adjustable scope at the cheaper end of the spectrum.
Mine are Optisan, Hawke Frontier, and Delta Titanium, all of which work excellently with a Pard 007.

Hi AJ
Good advise here, i personally would go with the 4-16 over the 3-12 as the extra magnification is there if you need it, but for air rifle range's the 3-12 will give slightly more field of view.
My advise is to definitely go for side focus, (1) your hand won't be blocking the i/r illuminator, and (2) you can focus the rifle while holding the stock and side focus.

I use a Hawk Vanitage 30 4-12x50 IR SF on mine & works fine with the Pard. Definitely need SF in my opinion as AO is a total pain in the real world.

Whilst a 50mm objective might not be necessary on an air rifle is does however give you greater flexibility to swap it out on your bigger rifles in the future should you wish & the increased exit pupil gives better low light performance.

Cheers I will have a look at these ones Storcky I think Redbeck had these in when I was looking on their website the other day 👍

Apologies Bo Diddley should of done that didn't think at time lack of caffeine moment.

Yeah 👍 nothing high end with PA adjustments
Nice nice heard good things about optisan, a sadly no longer with us shooting person & friend once recommended the frontier scope range many moons ago to me.

Was looking at anything within £250 limit

Hello Warbucks, yeah something to consider that for me as once I eventually apply for fac in new gaffe I would put it on rimfire and get pard008/dnt Zulus/alpex for hw100.

Will take a look through both this Saturday see which is best and gives versatility

That's a very good point that cheers Warbucks yours and everyone's advice on this appreciate it🙏

Is that the WA version, good stuff 👍. One point I will remember when I'm looking sf over AO @redbeck next weekend,

Aye that's what I'm thinking for the future on rimfire or larger even just to get it up and running on paper 👍 without spending unnecessarily

Yeah increased low light gathering good shout thanks smellyyeti

Hello, I used a Hawke side focus 3 X 12 set on 4 magnification, Once you set up it rarely needs changing , On a 22 L/R
Nice one Flash 🙏 thanks, I'll be scope browsing quite a bit next Saturday 😂.

I've been advised go for 16mm lens over 12mm pard007 to give versatility in case of future fac rimfire/centrefire

I'm not sure if you are on the airgunforum.co.uk, but there used to be plenty of scopes available in the classifieds on that forum. However, the rules are quite strange, so tread carefully if you are a new member.
Also, look at "Scopeshack" on Facebook.

Nope not unfortunately, ah right 👍, really odd rules, I would go on there but not had Facebook account for years lol 🤣 stayed away from social media completely after getting rid of my old account.

Wulf scopes are very decent for the money. E.g lightning 30e. Not that hawke aren't good for the money. Or vector etc. I think you're fine with pretty much any scope around 3 to 4 mag as long as it's got adjustable objective obviously. The pard adapters fits some scopes better than others but that's hard to assess without trying it.

I find the pard 007s very difficult I use. The physical unit in the one I had was around 145mm long which is much longer than the eye relief on a normal scope. Plus the eye relief on the pard isn't actually zero either.

If you set your day scope up for comfortable use I don't get why people recommend them as they destroy the eye relief on your setup.

I know you can get pard 007s now that are a fair bit shorter, but they cost a good whack. Approach with caution. An actual night scope is just miles better imho.

Very good points nf fuse, I will keep my eye out for a used digex n450 or pard 008 as alternative option to rear add on keeping my options open
