Super market Maris Piper potatoes being mislabled

What's wrong with Crocs? . I have 5 pairs. A pair at my partners house green. One in my going away bag and 3 pairs at home. One pair all but worn out they are so old.
Back to spuds. I have sent an email to Whitch. To report to trading standards you have to go through Citizen Advice! Unable to report directly.
Thanks for all the replies.

On second pair of Temu realtree cross @John Gryphon and they’re great 🤗

Sainsbury’s Maris Piper do seem consistent but @JockStalk, I’m now a convert to Anjou - I’m finding the Jersey’s rather bland in comparison :coat:
Are all the Jersey pots. really from Jersey these days?

In the early 70s I took time out from Blacksmithing to help at a local potato/veg/fruit delivery company.
Fruit and veg. shops would buy a few bags of whichever spuds on the waggon mostly and some would ask for King Edwards.
Chippies, on the other hand would ask for a couple of bags and try them, then if okay they would ask for as many bags as they could handle.
Much of the time it was Whites that were the preferred spud for chipping.

Not sure what direction you are local to Berwick upon Tweed.
But Tilmouth Farm, about 7 miles out heading towards cornhill sells potatoes direct from the farm. £10 for a 20kg bag. cuts out the middle man and you know what your getting. 01289 382482 is the number to see if they have what your looking for beforehand.

Never pay more than £5 for a pair of Lidl crocs. Great for larder work and pressure washing your vehicle when combined with shorts. Simply hose off blood and crud contaminated legs and feet upon completion of task. No ruined boots/shoes or trousers.

Its why top Surgeons have two pairs in white.

Yate so 320 miles South. My mother is in a nursing home near Coldstream so I was visiting her.
The ones I got in BOT were in 25kg sacks for £10. Got them off the veg man on the high street on market day. Ran out last month hence need to buy some from a super market.

Im in Angus and got bag from farmer...I had to ask him what they where ....new brand sensations they are called .. .bloody good tatties..... not as resilient but great taste ...
He says can have what I want was nobody buying em ...they all want mainstream brands.....got offered £50 per ton bit it costs £55 per ton to ship em south....

Packaged so called "pounded yam" is supposed to be just that. Dried pounded yam. Yet read the ingredients on most and it is in fact mashed potato. So to avoid trading standards is sold labelled as "POUNDO" rather than "POUNDED YAM".

Overview

Seed Potato Sagitta - Grow Veg & Fruit by Brighter Blooms
Sagitta potatoes are a popular, versatile, early maincrop variety, renowned as an excellent choice for chips and roasting due to their yellow skin, light yellow flesh, and lower starch content, which produces a lighter-colored chip. Grown widely in the UK, they are also suitable for mashing and boiling, often described as a superior, high-yielding alternative to Maris Piper.
