I am a BDS member. I think that they are having to play catch up in the marketplace. First off it was the 3 day Deer Managers course reduced from 5. Now the DSC2 in 2 days. BDS have been slow off the mark with where the demand is. Private companies have not. When my DSC2 portfolio was received by BDS, before being sent to verifier, I was given a serious grilling because 2 of my grallochs were on park deer…. Oh how things change!
There will quite shortly become a saturation point in the marketplace, a huge slow down in the demand for training. Down playing the DSC2 to just a quick 2 day course, an easier to attain qualification is only heading one way…. a DSC3. This keeps BDS, and all other private training companies in business !
I'm not having a pop at any training providers, some have revolutionised stalker training for the better in my opinion. But by shortening courses and price cutting they have created their own problem, The UK stalking market is tiny. So the more stalkers attaining their DSC2, the less business there is….. Unless a new course is provided !
