So who are you going to vote for in the coming election?

Did anyone do the BASC email to your local MP?

I did and the response was as I figured;

Labour NO REPLY.

Lib Dems DIDN@T WISH TO COMMENT AS HE DIDN'T KNOW THE LEGAL IMPLICATIONS OF SHOOTING!!!!

Conservatives I GOT A HAND WRITTEN LETTER FORM GEOFFERY COX WHO WAS VERY PRO SHOOTING ETC.

I have emailed the 3 main parties weeks ago, still waiting for labour no surprise there, Lib dems did reply but would not commit to a conclusive answer, but did get a positive reply from the cons the local guy is a keen shooter so obviously very pro shooting, none of them are worth a lite as a party but it looks like the cons will be getting my vote.

I'm not after derailing this thread as I think it is important, but what about the MP's private agenda's, how many of them are saying one thing while doing another? EDM 966.

...which is why I will never offer support to any party which believes in the principle of privilege and the superiority of the rich. Some candidates will do anything to join the gravy train and line their pockets, even offering words of support to those they once spurned.

Have we forgotten who banned SLRs and, subsequently, handguns? Neither should we forget that the latter prohibition put several commercial shooting clubs out of business without so much as a penny of compensation.

In the interests of reasoned debate could you explain what party policies support the view that any party 'believes in the principle of privilege and the superiority of the rich'.

Maybe the sort of party that defends Public Schools where any number of its future members are educated, get to know their own and avoid having to mix with the hoi polloi.

I will vote Con' . They will at least give a free vote on hunting with hounds. I have never followed hounds in my life but I believe the Labour handling of the whole affair including ignoring reports they commisioned and the gross waste of tax payers money was nothing short of immoral. I believe that the Con' government would do more to empower the countryside owners rather than pandering to the whims of the Ramblers and twitchers.
With regard to the bans on pistols and auto-loader rifles, I believe that all the parties have found out that knee-jerk legislation is bad legislation. I don't think it would happen the same way again if there were to be another ( God forbid) incident.
Only my views, I'm sure others think differently as they are entitled to do.

The original 2004 Act was passed in the Commons on a free vote, it was as a consequence of the Lords refusing to pass it and it being a manifesto issue that allowed the enactment of the Parliament Act. Few remember this but Blair actually tried to amend the bill to permit hunting to continue by license but this was rejected.

P.S. I too have little time for the moans and grumbles of the anorak and kagoole brigade.

I would be very pleased to see a "knee jerk" reflected in the public's voting habits, I for one will be voting for something a little more confrontational this time around, I might be a little isolated, but I will have had the satisfaction of voting against the likes of Shahid Malik & his version of the address that Hitler gave in the Olympic stadium way back when.

I know what you mean. I am a Conservative voter, but my deeper sentiments lie with that party too. I just wish they would behave sensibly and become a real option.

Ha!

I ask you this. How many of your much loved Nu Labour MP's educate their children through the appalling state school system.

I bet you'd be dismayed at how low the number actually is.

There's nothing continuing the old soci-political stero types myth. So loved by the Nu Labour PR spin doctors

Come on guys why not come out of the cupboard and state the name of your preferred political party. There's no shame in standing up and being counted if you truly believe in what they say.

Where's Sutch when you really need him?

With the public perspective of mainstream politicians of all hues at an all time low following the expenses scandal, Winterton's gaff, etc. etc., the Screaming Lord and fellow Monster Raving Loonies would surely have had their best chance ever of getting someone into Westminster?

Would you be referring to the British Naturist Party? ;)

I`m not sure who i`m voting for this time around though it definately won`t be labour, in fact if Screaming lord sutch was still here i`d be sorely tempted to give him my vote.
I don`t think it matters who you vote for, they`ll promise everything and deliver nothing.
It seems to me that the ones we should worry about are the "I can`t be bothered to vote" brigade as a non vote is a vote for labour.
Most of the hunting world will be voting Conservative in the hope that the hunting act will be repealed but i think they`re going to be let down big time.
basil.
