Black rabbit
Shocking bad luck to shoot one. Best you safeguard yourself against accidents for a while.
 
I believe it (the bad luck story) came about from gamekeepers measuring if their land was being poached.
I don’t believe in the ‘bad luck’ bit for sure, but wouldn’t shoot a parsons rabbit just because I feel we all should keep a bit of the ‘different’ out there.
 
Still around certain areas… it wasn’t that long ago keepers would purposely put down black or white rabbits. When they disappeared rule of thumb was a inexperienced poacher.. as the old boys left well alone. ;)
 
We have loads here in north Essex, the rumour is that some tame black rabbits escaped and mixed with the wild ones
