  1. Available: Fantastic opportunity

Interesting...would you have a link for that, I can't seem to find it on the internet?
  2. Once upon a time.

    "In cotton"...forgot that bit...!
  3. Once upon a time.

A good quality long-sleeve t-shirt that does not become a billowing tent the first time it gets washed due to the waist edge losing shape...!
  4. Does this look repairable...?

Oh I already bought another one in the meantime also..........
  5. Does this look repairable...?

Just an update that this shotgun was marvellously repaired by the good folk at MacLeod's in Tain. Back in action and actually a much nicer gun than I even remembered! Thanks to all.
  6. Lawn mower will not start

Try balancing it at a 45* angle and then pulling it. Mine starts like that, leaning to the left (right wheels in the air) at around 45*. No idea why...
  7. Lead ban date announced

...looking forward to picking up a used-but-brilliant-and-cheap .243 when people start dumping them for no good reason at all
  8. Lead ban and .243?

I was talking rubbish, they actually are the Peregrines, I just checked! From Edinburgh Rifles. They look awesomely blunt (they are VRG3 apparently, not sure if they are the same as the Bushmaster) and I look forward to seeing how they do; it's a Tikka M595 1 in 10 (I think & assume) so ho-hum...
  9. Lead ban date announced

Quote: “calibre” means the measurement of the interior (also known as “the bore”) of a firearm’s barrel and the diameter of projectile used". So that also puts that line of reasoning to bed. Now if someone really wanted to use lead, perhaps they could start a private maritime security company...
  10. Lead ban and .243?

I just bought some Fox 100g copper for my .243. Intrigued to find out how they shoot. The 80g copper has worked fine on reds & foxes in .243.
  11. Lead ban date announced

That is a very good price.
  12. Lead ban date announced

I bought 40 rounds for DSC1 practice last week, £40. Same 40 in the copper that I use would be £130.
  13. Success rate

Same for me, when I had a syndicate place in deep forestry. Bloody nightmare; mind you I couldn't actually go that often. Saw deer though...which was nice...
  14. Caliber increase, change shot placement or both?

This ^ My last two deer (red stags) hit with a .270 ran...not much, but around 3-4 seconds. Both were shot "well". Last deer hit with .243 ran no more than the .270 ones.
  15. Grives - what do you think?

Have had them & they were delicious!
