Thanks for the replies chaps, seems a big issue is the fridge/freezer combo because a lot of them don't have independent thermostats, so stand alone fridges or freezers are more likely to work better. Will definitely look at some sort of temp/humidity monitor.
Previously had a fridge-freezer in the garage which wouldn't work in the cold (food defrosted). Assumed that meant the whole thing wasn't working, but reading into it more, believe the freezer turns off because of the fridge being at the correct temperature. I'm now getting a full length fridge...
Any second hand firearm I've always disassembled completely, including bolt. Possibly a bit foolhardy, but nothings gone wrong yet (fingers crossed!). After the initial strip down, never again unless I have issues.
Yeah, they would be the primary areas of focus. I don't want to eradicate the foxes as they already enough issues with rats and rabbits, just persuade them to avoid the pens
It's very flat arable land with excellent visibility, so presuming they would be happy with me shooting from sticks but will mention high seats as an alternative. Also no public rights of way and plenty of barriers to stop vehicles. I would have thought that it would be ideal!
The rifle is thankfully signed off for that already so hoped they wouldn't have an issue. Am exploring whether I can take deer as well with the landowner
Hi all, I've recently been asked to control foxes on about 3000 acres of arable land. As I'm on a closed cert, I have asked whether the land is signed off for 308 or whether I could be given the open licence (had my FAC for 4 years). The FEO seems to want to inspect the land and has the view...
That's part of question really, I had been using a cheap Hawke scope but its occasionally losing zero (presumably recoil related), so will be relegated to the 22lr. So starting from scratch on 308 and unsure whether to get glass and a add on or just a night vision scope.
I got the 308 for deer and boar, but am running rather low on space and funds now. Currently have 7 guns in a 5 gun cabinet and it's a bit of a squeeze! Ideally I will look at a 223 or similar in future
Trying to get a foxing setup sorted and looking at either a dedicated night vision scope or an add on. Only issue is that I will be using a 308 (no space /budget for another dedicated fox rifle) . Will there be too much recoil for a night vision add on?
