Head shooting is like any shot, it can go wrong.
With any shot we need to be realistic about our position, the distance, the animals behaviour etc etc. There is always a million factors involved.
What is critical is we take sensible shots, whatever the placement and are prepared to accept...
Not quite the same, but similar performance downrange, I have used my .300WSM for longer distance large deer for a number of years across a couple of barrels.
I really like the capability it provides, with excellent terminal performance even where ranges are 'extended'.
They are a definite...
I handled them at the stalking show, and was mighty impressed. I would have liked to get hands on with the FBT stocked option as that looks to me the nicest overall workhorse package out of the lot they offer.
The only thing I think Steel Action need to do to really make the product the best...
It currently sits at 27.2" which spits 148 Grn Yew Tree TLRs out at 3430FPS. It's an awesome open ground rifle, and really smacks the big reds to the ground, but can be hard on smaller deer at close range.
The 20" .308 I have as a close range rifle is perfect for it's application, but I find...

Hard to give them any evidence to look at with this daft online portal.
Put a comment they should contact me to get the supporting documentation, but they’ve just ruled without it.
Knew it was coming because they don’t like these ‘entities’, but I at least thought they’d go through due...
I won’t elaborate too much, but yes I foresaw this being an issue and took appropriate insurance to protect myself.
It’s a necessary entity which has animal welfare reasons for me to possess it.
The police have not engaged with me at all, and have failed to investigate or ask about my good...
Hi All,
I will keep the details sparse to avoid any conflict of interest or issue with appealing, but I have recently had a variation refused by my firearms licencing department.
I am looking to appeal this using the Ripe Shooting Insurance Policy which I took out last year for just this...
I wouldn't get too hung up on it. Copper has been used by many deer managers for many years, it's well proven and isn't difficult to find a well grouping load with (just like lead some rifles like some rounds and some like others - find what your rifle likes).
Like lead you can choose both...
