  1. Which binos for Africa

As above, 8x32 will be just right. Dont bother with thermal. I have taken a thermal spotter before now to Africa, but find that it is a lot less useful than in the uk because there is so much heat signature in the environment.
  2. comparison between the .270 Winchester, .280 Remington, .280 Ackley Improved, and 7mm Remington Magnum

You could add in the the my choice of 6.8Western. Pretty much semantics as Ronin suggests!

  9. 25 Creedmoor in the field

I have just started loading a .22 GT. Thinking it may be the better compromise on barrel wear. Time will tell, but 88 gr bullets at 2950 are very effective. I used a .22 Creedmoor in Texas recently and it was great fun and effective on feral pigs!
  10. Expanding versus disintegrating monolithic bullets

Ronin, Interesting that you say the THAC bullets dont fragment in your experience as their web site says they are designed to fragment?
  11. Expanding versus disintegrating monolithic bullets

Interesting that you have had a similar experince. It is a bit dissapointing that the dealers wont take the carcasses as the bullets are doing what htey are designed to do and make smaller calibres very effective. I guess it begs the question of whether a larger diameter bullet is required or...
  12. Expanding versus disintegrating monolithic bullets

I was stalking up in Scotland in Januray and came accross an issue regarding monolithic bullets that break up. I was using Yew Tree bullets in my 6.5 that have worked well for me in my 6.5 creedmoor and that are designed to break off the front part of the bullet. In smaller calibres this is an...

I have had quite a game getting barrels from Highland Outdoors. They 'Lost' the first order but did eventually get my barrel. There has been an issue getting export paperwork in the US because of the Govt lockdown which delayed things.
