Are moderators required or just easy enough to get that many people use them? Here in the USA it is a bit of a process to get one, you are correct there.

Remington 700 chambered in .30-06, borrowing shouldn't be an issue if that's common practice there.

This seems to be the biggest hurdle so far is how to get a rifle. I was considering bringing mine and getting a visitor's permit but those only last a year and I'm not sure if they'd allow me to purchase ammunition for the rifle. Lots of research to do for sure!
