  1. Rifle Nodes - You’re Wasting Your Time

When I used a shoot over chrony my sample sizes were small, now I am using a Garmin I am getting a lot more data, and SD/SE start to become meaningful, it's interesting but creates a rabbit hole of reloading possibilities, then the barrel will be burnt out, will the next barrel perform the same?
  2. Sako 75 vs 85 and 90

On a Sako you just pull the bolt back slowly and press the round back into the mag. That's a brilliant feature in that respect the 85 is better than the Mauser 98.
  3. For Sale: Theoben Rapid 7 MK2 - 22" FAC

  4. Sako 75 vs 85 and 90

85 has controlled round feed, to me it's the easiest to use.
  5. Advice from a grumpy old man

The whole point of hunting is to match wits with the animal and stalk into range. That sentence is the most important, focus on learning about deer rifle stuff can be a distraction.
  6. WARNING!!!

You are safer if you make a separate journey with the forend - that's Good Practice.
  7. DSC2

Leec6.5 has a valid point that Red are very different to Muntjac. Perhaps L2 should include a range of species as the larger herding deer are a different challenge to our smaller deer. However that would result in even fewer L2 candidates.
  8. Do I need to buy a crossbow?

Knives, guns now crossbows, we introduce littlelegal sanctions that don't work - repeating a failed policy is the role of a fool.
  9. For Sale: Leupold M8 – 8X AO

  10. "All Gun licences to be digitised under new Palantir deal to run national firearms database"

Credit size FAC, go to RFD and swap my 270 Sako for a 6.5 Creedmore, all licensing issues sorted at checkout - that's what we should be moving towards. PS other choices of rifle make/cartridge are available, these are only to illustrate my point.
  11. Advances in ammunition

It will be down to marketing, the Creedmore was successful, the 260 Remington wasn't. New cartridges are introduced most years, most fail.
  12. To shorten or not to shorten... 243 barrel

If it shoots it's fine, friend had a rifle with a bluge half way down the barrel, it shot fine.
