If you can remember the model I will probably buy one too.
I just want really really bright and not anti socially bright - it doesn’t need to be cleverer than me and need training to figure out
I’ve got one of these LED lensers and honestly the settings gimmicks are exactly that, gimmicks. It takes ages to decide what it wants to output so I have set it up just to be on mid power all the time because it’s a pain otherwise. If you are in a light bit and want to see outside it you can’t...
Im curious what HAD training actually covers having never done it.
My experience is walk up as close as practical and shoot it in the head with a shotgun - job done. Safety isn’t a huge issue as it’s the same as any time you fire a gun and aiming again is the same as you would usually do.
I was more meaning that as the range stretches I’ve not found the HMR to be some sort of magic round so it wouldn’t be better than a hornet.
Get what you mean with the cost of reloading, I’m just not sure I want to load up high volumes
the nut behind the butt can’t need to be better than with a HMR.
I regret buying a HMR over a hornet other than the reloading being key to affordability when I was shooting a lot of rabbits and hares in tree plantings
I get what you mean in that case but my point was more that if they are competent then they will pass if you have to shoot 1 or 10, if they are unsafe you will identify that in the single stalk and the same if they aren’t competent in the shot / processing.
I don’t disagree that reducing the...
It’s less time consuming and easier logistically but in essence if you are competent the actual shooting and processing of 1 or 3 deer is no different really
One problem is that the reason some are targeting deer is because their numbers need to be significantly reduced and the ‘old’ ways with the ‘old’ guard aren’t keeping up with that need. Yes the goal posts have changed but there’s not many places where you can say deer numbers aren’t going up...
Garmin In Reach are good and not too challenging to use. Can also use them to send messages with your phone when you are running it of signal which is useful.
Would a lot of the problems of front mounting go away if you fitted a picatinny rail above the barrel and mounted the thermal to that rather than the scope or am I missing the point?
Saw a neat mount the other day that flipped over out of the way as well
Im not sure why you should be giving them notice that the due date is approaching or that there will be a change for storage etc. if you have put your paperwork in good time and not heard anything then the reasonable assumption is that at some point before the relevant day, the certificates will...
Missed out on the varmint m595 barrel yesterday so thought I would test the water if anyone had a 595 stock they are looking to move.
Got a standard sporter already so not looking for that or a standard synthetic.
Not that keen on the big laminate GRS either which I appreciate limits my...
