No problem shooting foxes 250m with my old 8x56. It’s still on my .223 but in fairness it’s not in the same league as my Z6i for shooting in last light. I wouldn’t feel disadvantaged using 8x. My 2.5-15 is normally on 6.

I’ve used Federal Magnum primers for as long as I’ve had a 270 at least 15 years. I’ve been using the same box for a few years. I’ve got 2k of them😬. I’ll root out some old brass and see if they seat in that. I’m convinced it’s the primers but I will continue to investigate.
