Which calibre please?

The issue with connection I think is more to do with the batteries than the unit. I have Govees and have had the same problems. I've put lithium batteries in the freezer ones, as standard alkaline batteries are on their limit at -18, lithium are good to -40.

Tipex or paint mark on the turrets, one mark on the bit you move, one on the bit that doesnt, lined up when at zero. Tipex can be chipped off if you need to redo it.

When it's £30 delivery or £50 on fuel .. yes🤦🏻‍♂️ I don't need a bulk load and, as they only have one type I need, adding over half the price again to a tub is not cost effective. If they had any Alliant I would indeed stock up.

Indeed, hence I'm looking for any amounts as I'm about to run out and that means no comps for me this year. C&G and Kranks have stock of some I need, but too far to drive and with a 30% cost for delivery, it's not worth it.

I was looking at these last week, and whilst waiting for a reply about stock, the price went UP! Not just BWO but the other suppliers all did the same. Is there a reason for the price volatility? Makes me think they'll go down again about 10 mins after I buy one!🤦🏻‍♂️

They are generally a bit too shallow to cover a rifle safe. But built-in across the whole wall and set forward into the room to create the required depth works. Add a piece of timber on top to fill the gap and modify the back board. Still have use of the upper shelves for other shooting...

Cheap IKEA Billy bookcase with doors on, modified for depth if necessary. Lots of choice then to suit your decor (or wife!) 😁

Ah I thought you were talking 2" tow ball. The Heckpack ball mount is bolted to the carrier with 4 bolts, so maybe a pintle mount could be used instead. Maybe worth asking them if they can supply one without the ball mount 🤷‍♂️

I think I know the one you mean, not the same make and I discounted it due needing a socket wrench to mount it. The Heckpack mount is a similar design to the Thule ones. Two halves are clamped around the tow ball by the hand lever. The bolt on the side is to adjust the tension.

Never had an issue with these type of clamp hitches. They are used on nearly every type of towbar cycle rack all over the world, so they are obviously up to the job. I'm not sure how it would 'let go' if it's adjusted correctly. It goes over-centre, with a locking pin and a padlock on the lever...

Well it's excellent quality and you know what they say in this business.... buy once.... I don't have the hoist (yet, maybe one day) but I justify the carrier cost by using it for tip runs, taking the mower to the range etc and knowing I'll not have to buy another one.
