  1. Experience of 6.5CM factory rounds please?

The EU moved a 5 year lead transition period for >5.6mm and 15 years for <5.6mm in December '25 "in response to pressure from member states" rather than the initially proposed 18m transition period...so another 5 years to make the move although I'd have a fair bet they will kick it down the line...
  2. Experience of 6.5CM factory rounds please?

Thanks for that, very useful - I will try the Whitetail - I have the .30-06 165gr BTs for bigger/harder beasts. Not allowed to homeload here.
  3. Experience of 6.5CM factory rounds please?

Thanks Bowland, but I'm now sorted on the 6.5x55, that's a second barrel on my Merkel Helix Alpinist, which I now leave as .30-06 mainly for Sika and longer walks (very consistent accuracy and extremely effective with 165gr Sako Gamehead Pro) as I have the Bergara in 6.5CM. I'm just looking at...
  4. Experience of 6.5CM factory rounds please?

Currently using Sako Gamehead Pro 140gr but nearly out and I'm looking at what I can buy from my LGS, and perhaps going a bit lighter. He has a good supply of Hornady Whitetail 129gr and S&B SP 131gr. Rifle is a 24in barrel Bergara HMR Pro. For use on fallow and roe. any views on either...
  5. On average are American shooters worse shooters than British shooters?

The Wild Deer Association of Ireland do that - fun competition various positions, resting - no rear rest, sticks, single stick only, 100-200m...1 MOA harder than many think if not rested front and rear.
  6. Viable alternative to Sky TV? 🤬🤬🤬

Ours normally are except that one day, one of the feckers also got me by the back of the neck while I was tensioning the wire - so returning after an unexplained 2 hours with a massive "love bite" added some interest to our marriage....
  7. Is it just me that hates trying to reverse trailers ?

  8. Viable alternative to Sky TV? 🤬🤬🤬

Ha ha, you are helping fitten them! I have convinced my wife that ours are fine with it, they mostly are but did spend about 2 hours one afternoon getting one out from behind permanent electric fencing it must have dived under when "taking cover", then getting its friends out who joined it when...
  9. Viable alternative to Sky TV? 🤬🤬🤬

Good if you like watching horses run in circles which is what our TV is used for at least half the time!
  10. Is it just me that hates trying to reverse trailers ?

This thread inspired me to reverse my single axle trailer back Ito where it lives, in a fairly tight gap between the tractor and a roller, rather than taking it off and pushing it as I normally do. Nailed it....ok, nailed it on the third go....
  11. Fench hunting licence

I think it's mostly running Frenchmen.....
  12. As we get older ..

Guinness by mouth and Allopurinol for the gout which I had been denying, its brilliant. A bit of gym but not enough to worry my wife that I'm preparing to go looking for Mk2...
  13. Holts Sealed Bid overpriced ???

Quite usual in auctions, online in particular, to have an option to place bid on unsold lots which I suppose lets non-sellers do a bit of a reality check and revisit, and a fair few thoroughbreds get sold "outside the ring" at Tatts and Goffs after they fail to sell, and get recorded in the...
  14. Swallow, Swift and Martin watch!

Thay must have been caught by the wind if they've ended up here first!
  15. Swallow, Swift and Martin watch!

2 swallows over the yard just before last light yesterday here in Tipperary, they're probably regretting it now as we have had 3 seasons this morning, just not summer, I cant see which season it is now as the rain is too heavy!
